COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green.

22 oz bottle believed to be 2012 vintage served in a pint glass. Pours a deep, dark reddish brown color with a large, frothy, and durable ehad. Clear. Very hoppy aroma, with some pine. Hoppy flavor too, but with a load of rich malts nearly counterbalancing the hops bitterness and adding a rich, sweet roasted grain flavor. Full bodied, with ample and soft carbonation. O: this exceptional beer may be as good as Imperial Reds get.

Bottle from Systembolaget enjoyed at home
Deep amber red, huge light tanned head. Smells of pine cones, spices, heavy resins and malts. Heavy sweet, dark fruits, malts, massive amounts of pine and a sting of alcohol. Heavy bitter, lots of resins. An awsome beer; a pine bomb for sure. Wonderful balance, good malts and a wall of hops; extremely smooth oily mouthfeel. Another world class beer from Alesmith

Appearance: Cloudy amber color with a thick tan head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Deep malty, rich hoppy and some fruity.
Palate: Full body. A bit sweet and a rich bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Deep malty, tropical fruity and rich (grape) hoppy. Well hidden alcohol.
Overall impression: Power beer. Maybe a bit too sweet. Anyway a lovely evening sipper.
Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with Nisse666

Smak och doft av humle, malt, karamell, torkad frukt, farinsocker. Välbalanserad men alldeles för söt som förstör helheten.

Bottle thanks to a trade. Pours a clear deep caramel amber with a caramel head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of sweet grains and caramel cut by a nice pine and resin note. Flavor is similar with a combination of caramel and pine with some sweet grains and a touch of resin.

bottle shared by derek, thanks! pours hazy chestnut amber with a creamy white head that dissipates quickly leaving a spotty film and minimal lacing- not particularly ’pretty.’ nose is tons of malts with sweet hop to cut the heavy malts. taste is similar with a ton of malts and fruity hops. loads of flavor with a very nice balance and high drinkability.
