COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Welcome to the holidays! Double Red IPA arrives each year as the weather turns cool and our cravings for winter warmers begin. This Imperial Red Ale has an intense hop aroma with well-balanced caramel malt sweetness. The intense American hoppiness builds on the substantial malt backbone to deliver a full-flavored beer with a ton of complexity.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2009 Bottle via Hophead22. Pours a dark (almost brown) amber with very thick qhite head that dissipates quickly. Aroma strong of floral and slightly citrus hops, alcohol, spice, yeast, and pine. Flavor is somewhat of a suprise, very complex similar to barley wines, but with itís own character. All flavors in aroma present with a few extras of caramel, dried fruit, and malt. Mouthfeel is pleasant and slightly slick. Overall a very nice brew.

Draught at Himmeriget, Cph. Dark, amber colour with a golden tint. Medium sized, off-white head. Fruity aroma with citrus fruits, grasses, resin, rich caramel malts and a toasted note. Taste is bitter. Full body with a rich, creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes lasting drying and bitter with pines, citrus fruits and caramel malts. Lingering toasted notes. Excellent IIPA!

Bottle, bottled 11.11.2015 (from beergium). Pours red amber-copper with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is hoppy, pine, citrus, passionfruit, malt, caramel. Flavor is sweet and bitter, grass, citrus, grapefruit, passiofruit. Finish is very sweet and grassy-pine bitter. Alcohol is mostly covered. Overall: very well made red ipa, but I just donít like grassy hops, hence I canít give this higher rating.

75 cl. bottle. Low but lasting fluffy white head. Clear yellow body, in spite of the name. Relatively sweet malt caramel fruity aroma and flavor with a nice hops bitterness, low carbonation and a short finish. Well balanced with a high alcohol level that has been nicely hidden by the sweetness of the beer.

This is dark in color for the style but otherwise it is down the middle and well done. Itís got the standard citrus and pine nose with a hint of pineapple. Woody bitterness dries out some slight sweetness. This is full bodied but not heavy and while not exactly drinkable at this gravity not a challenge to drink either.

Amber. Caramel. Peppery. Not a hop bomb. Quite dry. This is ok, but surprised it rates so high. Tasted at Elijah Ps.
