Thanks to MuenchenerKindl for this great extra. Bottle 462 poured into my Maudite glass produced a big tan head that trailed of to a thick lace. This ale had one of the darkest body’s I have seen in a while. I guess its time to get used to them for the fall
Big chocolate and roasted malts notes as well as almost a brown sugar smell must be the Rapadou.
The flavors of roasted malts dark chocolate and smoke hit me first then a little sweetness sneaks in as well. Very thick mouth feel creamy in some ways not much carbonation. Flavors get much better as it warms
I am enjoying this bomber quite nicely. I will have no problem finishing this one off but not a session brew by any means. Thanks again Tom.
Edit I think the age of the bottle must be taming the alcohol because it is not noticeable at all till it hits you

Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a small diminishing frothy light-brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee on ice, chocolate, brown sugar and molasses. Flavour of roasted malt, coffee & dark chocolate, molasses, green hops and an interesting burnt element to it. Thick syrupy body. A very enjoyable beer.

22oz from Immy - thanks, Tim! Nice thick dark brown pour, with a lively body and minimal cocoa head. Strong notes of molasses and chocolate malts in the nose, slight traces of bitterness too. Very appetizing. Thick mouthfeel, and a nice base beer, it should be said. Roasted malts to the fore and an almost oat-like consistency and flavor manages to creep in. Dominant taste and finish remind me of that gooey stuff that sticks to the pan with homemade cinnamon rolls. Slightly excessive at times but a fine porter overall.

Bottle 1710 of 2007. 22 oz bottle split between two glasses. Deep brown/black color and opaque. Slight ring of head that is a creamy tan color. Aroma of roasted grain, coffee, molasses, burnt sugar, and sweet cream. Very chocolatey taste. Almost like a chocolate milkshake. Very smooth. A slight coffee taste in the swallow. Also a slight sweet body. A bit of wood in the body as well. The alcohol is hidden nicely. Some raw bitterness qualities in the aftertaste. Dutch cocoa dryness as well. A very nice porter.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy and tupalev, via trade with Immy. Bottle 0530 of 2007. Opaque red-black pour, average frothy light brown lasting head. Molasses and light herbal aroma, moderate alcohol and a hint of sweet coffee. Taste is boozier and sweeter, not much bitterness except from the alcohol. Slick, syrupy body, slightly carbonized in the finish, a little still, bitter, slightly lactic finish. Damned good, if sweet (foreign stout, a little burnt and coffee-ish).

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Darker brown color with a medium head. Aroma is sweet and heavy with hints of chocolate, spices and dark fruits. Flavor is heavy with chocolate, dark fruits, sugar, and a nice porterish quality. Tasty, smooth and overall well done. The best I’ve had yet from these guys.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Wine Specialist. Pours dark ruby garnet ending brown with a good tan head. Aroma is dark. Like molasses and coffee and dark fruit. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is tarry molasses, coffee, dark fruit, and chocolate. Although it’s full of malt, the finish is relatively dry. There is something like wood that comes forth in the finish, but this isn’t the oak aged stuff. Gol darny, but it is strong and tasty. One of us should send a bottle to Maria. One of us from the East coast.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Squire’s., #0364 of 2007. Pours onyx with 1-finger tan head. Nose is roasty dark malt, heavy molasses, dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, cashew, cinnamon. Tastes roasty, with a rich dark malt upfront flavor giving way to dark chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, and nuts. Rich, thick, oily brew. My only beef is that it waters out a tiny bit at the end. This one is amazingly good.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Another thanks to The_Epeeist for bringing me a bomber of this. Pours deep brown with a medium creamy head. Nice lacing. Aroma of espresso, roasted malts and toffee. Rich coffee taste that’s a little bit sweet with the toffee, but very nice overall.
I’m assuming that much of the toffee sweetness is from the rapadou. It’s definitely something to try.
