COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An Imperial Porter brewed with a Haitian sugar called Rapadou. Rapadou is a traditionally processed cane sugar that lends a great toffee caramel flavor to our 9% ABV Porter. Watch for this one aged in oak barrels in the future. Limited edition of 2007 bottles.

Bottle from Squire’s., #0364 of 2007. Pours onyx with 1-finger tan head. Nose is roasty dark malt, heavy molasses, dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, cashew, cinnamon. Tastes roasty, with a rich dark malt upfront flavor giving way to dark chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, and nuts. Rich, thick, oily brew. My only beef is that it waters out a tiny bit at the end. This one is amazingly good.

Great porter from a local brewer! Appearance is opaque brown, tastes of light chococolate, coffee and roasted notes. Overall a very well put together porter that I have bought quite a few bottles of!

This is a review for bottle 1256 of 2007 from Rickís Wine & Gourmet in Alexandria, VA. Served @ 45 degrees F in a Troegs Mad Elf snifter glass. This beer was incredible. Extremely intense unrefined sugar with hints of raisins. Very much a molasses note to this. There was alcohol, but it wasnít boozy. Color was deep and dark, with about two fingers of foam, which did not dissipate quickly. I really wish this beer hadnít been limited to 2007 bottles, because Iíd like another three. I still have one though, that Iím sitting on. Serving type: bottle

22 oz bomber. #536 out of 2007. This beer was excellent! Pours a pitch black, with a dark brown medium head. Aroma is sweet, roasted, with hints of chocolate and both regular and brown sugar. The flavor is creamy, chocolates, with roasted malts, and a strong caramel taste (did I mention the chocolate?). The alcohol was hidden until I started to notice my head was a little light after finishing the bottle. Quite a fine pick here.

2007 vintage bomber #1537. Thanks to Butters. Opaque with a creamy quarter-inch of lasting foam. Sugary swiss cheese lacing all over the pint. Aroma of creamy chocolate and caramel with some light espresso and hints of oak. Front flavors of caramel, bittersweet chocolate and espresso with cream. Middle turns to espresso and bittersweet cocoa. Finish is dried nicely by the cocoa and coffee and has some faint notes of tobacco, vanilla, whiskey and oak barrel. Heavy body is extremely smooth, chewy-sticky and roasty-dry. Dangerously drinkable dessert.

Bottle: Dark brown, near black pour with a finger of creamy brown head. Aroma is sweet and chocolate laced with a bit of the roast and coffee shining through. Flavor is rich and chocolatey sweet with some lingering roast and espresso. A bit more sweetness that regular chocolate, maybe thats the cane sugar? Silky, smooth, and delicious. Really quite terrific. Thanks Immy.

Bomber, #532 of 2007. Black with a thick brown head that faded rapidly. Nose has lots of roasty malt and toffee, some coffee and black molasses notes. Thick, creamy mouthfeel, very smooth, certainly full bodied. Flavor is somewhat sweet, burnt malt and caramel, black coffee and cocoa. A medium bitterness from start to finish, baking chocolate-like. Everything softens just a bit when fully warmed. Alcohol is barely detectable, surprising for 9%. Finishes with more toffee and caramel. Absolutely delicious! May not be for everyone, but I love it.

Amazing. Wehn I was at the brewery I asked about the brewmasterís reservse and this one sounded the most fascinating. Brewed with cane sugar and I can taste it. Itís more of a refined sugar. And incredible porter worth a taste but itís limited.

bomber - bottle 288 of 2009; big thanks to ksurkin as this was part of a big porter trade; cracked at the HOTD dock sale; pours clear dark cola brown with thin tan head; lots of dark fruit, vanilla and chocolate cookies; drinks with sugary sweetness, brown sugar, caramel and coffee; nice roasted malts with yummy sweet coffee; bone dry finish; very impressive brew and I enjoyed this much more than their bourbon barrel impy porter; would love to get another bottle of this one; thanks Ken!!
