An Imperial Porter brewed with a Haitian sugar called Rapadou. Rapadou is a traditionally processed cane sugar that lends a great toffee caramel flavor to our 8.5% ABV Porter. Watch for this one aged in oak barrels in the future. Limited edition of 2007 bottles.

Courtesy of kmweaver. Black, creamy tan head. Charred chocolate sugar aromas float on mild roasted coffee, molasses, smoke, and toasted dark fruit tones. Bittersweet chocolate and sugary caramel flavors round with slight smoked port note and further hints of coffee. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Nice brew...

Pours black with a one-finger tan head. Roasted coffee and chocolate aroma with a good deal of toffee. Sweet flavor with a finish of overdone coffee. Alcoholic finish. I might not have called it a porter.

Thanks Immy: Pours a very dark brown. This has a thinner body than expected, likely the product of the added sugar, but it does add a nice toffee and molasses flavor. A bit of roast and chocolate. Some very small warmth in the finish.

22 oz bottle, via kmweaver. Pours a very dark brown, almost black body with a small tight bubbled chocolate brown head that retained as a thin covering. The aroma is heavy dark fruits and roast with a bit of a espresso coffee smell. A little licorice, burnt caramel, and a touch of chalk. The flavor is a little too high on the burnt malt, it almost crosses over into the ashy category. Heavy caramel and burnt residual sugars on the finish, a touch of tobacco. This does have some similarities to a Foreign Stout with the high sugars, but not quite enough roast to qualify. Pretty well hidden alcohol for being 9%. Mouthfeel is fairly thick with a slightly clingy sugaryness on the finish. Moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, pretty decent, but the sweetness gets a little tiring as you get further into the bottle.

Pours dark brown with brownish head. Roasty, caramel malt, light touch of coffee, sugar cane is present. Very impressed, wish this beer was available here in FL.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry and Blankboy, courtesy of Harry. Bottle 0530 of 2007. Alcohol, burnt sugar, cola aroma. Black dark tanned head. Interesting taste - strong porter,, strong alcohol, ,weird sweetness/tang. Too strong but still very flavourful. An interesting take on the style.

This poured black in color with a moderate light brown head. Aromas were of sweet dark fruit (plum, fig), vanilla, toffee, chocolate and roasted malt. In the mouth it was medium-bodied, rich and sweet with lots of bitter roast flavors. There was low carbonation and the finish was somewhat muddled and dirty.

22oz. Bottle (#1686 of 2007): Aroma of roasted malts, soy sauce, chocolate, slight alcohol, sugar, caramel, toffee, and some smoke. Poured black in color with a small to medium-sized brown head that diminished into a nice, lasting film. Opaque. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is medium to heavily sweet. Tastes of sugar, chocolate, roasting, malts, coffee, cream, smoke, slight alcohol, wood, toffee, caramel, and some soy sauce. Full body. Thick, sticky, coating texture. Soft to average carbonation. Sweet, smokey, sugar, caramel, and roasted malt finish is a bit chalky.

Appearance: thick dark brown, tanned yellow light top. Good stoic presence. 4-
Nose: dark roasted barley, slightly acidic, malt with smoke at end. 7+
Flavor/Palate : Mid full bodied. Sweets with slight sour side. Initially slight warmth that grows. Solid strong porter , straight with solid quality.

Pours a black color with a small head leaving some lace. The aroma is nutty with some sweet malt and some molasses. The flavor has a good malt sweetness with some molasses some cherry and a good bit of chocolate.
