An Imperial Porter brewed with a Haitian sugar called Rapadou. Rapadou is a traditionally processed cane sugar that lends a great toffee caramel flavor to our 8.5% ABV Porter. Watch for this one aged in oak barrels in the future. Limited edition of 2007 bottles.

Bottle… October ‘09 O-Town Throwdown!…Pours very dark and sits almost black in my glass with no head. Standouts in the bouquet are chocolate, charcoal and alcohol. Full-bodied and creamy with dancing carbonation. Flavorwise, dark chocolate and modest acidity are the main players. Finishes chocolaty and tangy. Bottle courtesy of TheCheeseMan!

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours near black with a light earthy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of roast joined by a good amount of toffee with slight hints of bitter chocolate and caramel. Flavor begins dark with roasted malts and dark chocolate but has a bit of sweetness from toffee in the finish.

22oz bottle of the 2014 edition, weighing in at 8.5% abv. Pours a watery, but translucent deep brown with some foamy, off white head. Nose has a lot of chocolate and plenty of molasses, licorice too, some toast, a hint of booze, some dried fruit too, some cola. Flavor reminds me more of a milk stout that I would have though, some of that lacto sugar, molasses, less chocolate than the nose let on, a little toast, some distinct maraschino cherry. Full bodied, sticky finish.

22oz bottle. Pours a very dark, chocolate brown color; medium tan head with fine-bubbled lacing and solid retention. Good amounts of roasted / burnt malts and dry, bitter chocolate in the aroma; sweet and burnt, but well-attenuated. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: plenty of roasted malts and dark chocolate, but with an odd, sugary core that complicates an otherwise tasty, roasted porter core; some roasted coffee and burnt malts, with a bit of alcohol poking through mid-palate; slightly hot. Lengthy, sticky sugar finish, showing caramel, toffee, and sticky sugariness.

I can’t remember who I got this from so whoever you are, thanks! This was an unsurprising black color and just as unsurprisingly it lacked a head. Average smell of well, a strong porter. Tastes like alcohol and a little roasty malts. This was nothing I’d seek out but it was easy to drink and got me a good buzz so bravo! Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-26-2008 04:14:24

Bomber, numbered don’t remember the number though. Psyched this is an imperial porter rather than not, bought it because it looked good and that is all. Pours black with a brown head. Nose is sweet with way too much bitter coffee for my taste. Taste is sweet with coffee and a bit of chocolate. Big old eh if you ask me big chocol coffee bitter mess.

Opaque black beer, short lived chocolate coloured head. Dark chocolate on the nose. Semi dry palate. Rich dark toffee and chocolate with licorice - alcohol. None of it sweet. Finishes much the same way with a dark malt aftertaste. Rich and flavoursome but it lacks something to counterbalance it’s heaviness. Decent though.

Dark roasty coffee and malt aroma beige head with a very dark brown just about black body. Very sweet roasty coffee flavor with a minor plum undertone. Smooth but rather sweet om the palate.

Good looking beer with a chocolate colored head. This one is pretty big for a porter and i will have to admit that it has some redeeming qaualities. its sweet with a mild burnt body and some bitter chocolate notes. This is the secnd beer i have had from these guys and i will have to say that i am pretty impressed.
