A contemporary pale ale, showcasing American malts and hop varieties. An assertive but not overpowering ale for the American Pale Ale drinker. In the 1970’s American Craft-Brewers created the microbrewery revolution, and it was “American Pale Ale” with it aggressive use of hops and creative grain bill that lead the charge.

Clear medium amber color, foamy white two-finger head, cobweb lace. Taste is malt that adds more body as it moves past a carbonated swallow to a lightly hopped finish. Overall, a solid light brew, never more than malt and hops, but it works on a simple level.

Soft straw gold pour with some haze and one finger of off white head. Nose is herbal with some citrusy notes, woody hops, and bready malt. Moderate hop bitterness in the mouth with citrus rind and spicy/zesty hop notes on the finish. Starts off pretty unassuming but there are a lot of nice qualities that pop up.

12 oz bottle (no date but purchased yesterday) served in a lager glass. Pours apricot-amber in color, hazy and with plenty of sediment in suspension. It looks much better at the top where it is crowned by a tall, creamy head that has excellent retention and leaves the glass well coated with lacing. Aroma: too musty and earthy, although some of this no doubt comes from the hops. Flavor: better than the nose, with a mildly bitter balance although slightly sweeter than usual for this style. Fruity with sweet and bready grains underneath. Feel: soft and smooth with medium carbonation. O: fresh? doubtful .. will try to re-visit.
