It’s funny that Keith’s has decided to call this a "Hop Ale" rather than accidentally try to pass this off as their real IPA. And, it’s a decent offering. Pours orange gold with a lasting off white foamy head. Nose is "hoppy". The flavour of the hop comes through and it’s got a relatively clean flavour. Caramel, pine, peach, citrus, and a bit of bubblegum. Somewhat sweet and a bit grainy at times. The finish is washed out.

Pours clear amber - gold with a bubbly white head and some lacing. Aroma of pine, bubblegum, citrus zest, but a little bit muted all around. Taste is caramel malt up front, with medium hop bitterness in the finish, and slightly metallic after. A little watery, but definitely not terrible.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 7/7/13

Aroma: The nose is sublte hops, grass/orange, along with some caramel notes
Appearance: Pours a clear golden-amber color with a small off-white head
Flavor: The flavor components are much like the nose, it is light sweet and light-medium bitter
Palate: The body of this one is light-medium, it has a decent feel
Overall Impression: This was an alright, though a bit under-hopped APA. It still has more hops and more flavor than their standard IPA though, so that was nice to see. It actually exceeded my expectations.

(Rating #4973)

Not bad, a rounded pale ale style with little definition of hops - more a mild bitterness without much citrus. Sweet malt base and mild-moderate body. Hallertau one is more fun in the ’lightweight’ category.

Bière dorée de 5.5 % d’alcool. Elle possède un odorat amer et fruité et ne possède aucun col au versement. Elle possède un goût amer et métallique en finale. Elle possède un goût de citron et/ou d’agrumes. Rafraîchissante !

Draught@Casey’s, Toronto. Amber color, off-white head. Restrained bitterness with fruity notes. Strawberry? Medium-light body, medium-high carbonation. Slightly off balance, but not bad.

I did actually get some faint citrus and a fair amount of orange and then of course a bit of the musty caramel marco smell that I have come to expect. High carbonation, mild body, slighly bitter but goes does somewhat easily with an off taste at the end.

When I popped the top on the Tall Boy the citrus cascade hop aroma was a promising introduction to Alexander Keith’s. Flavor fell short, cereal malts, little in bitterness. Macro beer at best.

Drank at a bachelor party in Montreal. Pretty much an IPA gone bad. Nothing else to write here.
