Beer pours a surprising very blackish black. Head is tan to white and very rocky. A good-looking beer! Aroma is not too much of anything. Very mild coffee notes. Taste is also not much of anything. Very light bitterness. Very soft carbonation with a medium body. Overall, needs more malt!

Can ( 473ml ). Clear deep copper with a large, lasting fizzy-foamy tan head - looks pretty damned good, actually (4-). Smells bready, floral and sweet - pleasant. The taste follows, more floral, surprisingly not that sweet, hardly any alcohol but sadly a tad harsh ... Watery body, solidly carbonated, initially a decent bitter/sweet balance, but that tinny, somewhat cheap harshness builds through the bottom half of the glass.

Can. Cappuccino head with prominent head, though the head was bubbly and stupid looking (excellent descriptive word right there). Very dark brown, with reddish hints. Sweet, roasted malt aroma. Sugary, oddly tangy, and malt. A little too thin and carbonated for an ale. A surprisingly solid coffee finish, though the taste got rather sticky as I got through it all. Not a good first impression, but not that bad overall.

can. Poured dark ruby-brown with a beige head with great lacing. Slightly smokey aroma. Medium bodied but flatter than expected. Flavour of a smoked beer with some coffee notes. Finshes a bit metallic and dry.

473 ml can from LCBO. Pours a chesnut brown with medium-sized, lasting tan head, even a bit of lacing. Light roasted malt and grains in the aroma. Taste has light roastiness, a bit of nuttiness and grains. A touch watery and only the mildest bitterness in finish. Not great but easily the best Keith’s beer.

On tap; dark brown/red color. Taste of mild coffee and nuts; quite mild in body for a dark beer. Not bad, but many other better dark beers out there

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Very dark pour with a tan very clingy head. Excellent lacing. Smell is roasty and malty. Taste is surprisingly sweet. Full bodied. A bit rich. Surprising for a mass produced beer I expected to be like copulation in a canoe. Not bad really. Don’t think I would want to drink a 12 or case of it though. A little too rich. Don’t expect this one to last, I think the swill drinkers won’t like it and the beer drinkers have found much better.
