Pours black with a medium off white head. hints of roasted malts in the aroma. flavour is way to watered down i can see why they changed the from a stout to a dark ale but didn’t make it taste any better

341ml bottle pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head that leaves some thin spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is light caramel and chocolate with a hint of coffee. Taste is malty sweet with hints of chocolate and coffee. Body is thin for the style and carbonation is weak. Overall, flavors are too mild and body too thin for the style and not that great.

Truly the most insipid dark beer I have ever drank. Has nice color and that’s about it. A waste of time and money!

Draft in a sampler at the Red Stag Tavern. Pours a deep, cloudy brown color with a small tan head. Best looking of the bunch. Nice toasty aroma but the flavor washes out into an oily, soapy mess and leaves the toast in the background. Light-bodied, soapy, and dry. Medium carbonation. Weak brown ale.

On tap at the Sheraton bar. Pale dark (if that is a colour?). Bit of a tinny taste. Woudl not try this again.

On tap @ Stayners. Dark brown, creamy cap with light lace. Caramel with traces of cocoa, on the thin side, with a boxboard dryness in the finish.

473ml can. Dark colour, ample head. Tasty toasted malts with hints of chocolate and coffee. It might be too middle of the road for some, but the result is a very drinkable dark ale. Probably my favorite Keiths or a close second to the Tartan ale.

Tap. Dark color with a foamy head. Dissipates to nothing in minutes. Aromas of malt and oats. Taste is weak with some malt and oats. No coffee, no chocolate. Terribly weak and watery body. Will avoid in the future.

Dark chocolate nose with hint of hickory. Flavour is bold, smokey coffee and chocolate. I have only seen this beer on tap at select bars.
