COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed a few small batches of Alexander Keith’s Harvest Ale, using the choicest ingredients – a combination of North American roasted malt, chocolate malt and Canadian barley malt – as well as two different types of hops: choice bittering hops, which create the robust bittering flavour you have come to expect from Alexander Keith’s and Willamette hops, which generate a rich aroma. The result is a full bodied, robust, aromatic beer with the ultimate balance between sweetness and bitterness - flavours that tantalize the senses. Alexander Keith’s Harvest Ale has a nutty taste with hints of caramel and chocolate. It is rich in colour and in flavour, which makes Alexander Keith’s Harvest Ale the perfect complement to the fall season.

Well I give Keith’s credit. This at least has some flavours, although off flavours are not ideal. Pours a dark brown with a medium frothy beige head. Aroma is malt and wet newspapers. Taste is a sweet malts and a small hop bitterness with some copper and sulfur mixed in.

Dark copper pour, tiny white head. Caramel, toffee, minerals, wet paper. Thin mouthfeel and watery. Light bitter finish with more caramel. Its decent but i cant shake the cheap macro flavor you get from the crap ingedients.

473 ml can from LCBO, impulse buy, served cool in a tulip glass. 20JA12.

App.: Clear deep copper with a decent light tan head. Aroma: Decent sweet caramel, some raisins and dark dried fruits, a touch minty, light esters, some dark bread crust, a bit dusty, not bad. Palate: Medium body and carbonation. Flav.: A little less rich than the nose, still some decent roasted malt, light caramel/toffee, kinda fruity, biscuit, dark bread crust, a hint of rye; dry with modest bitterness and a decent “dry” toffee and toast crust finish.

A pleasant surprise. For Keiths.

Pours a nice dark brown colour with medium head. aroma has hints of caramel and toasted malts which is all it has going for it. The flavour is sweet but very watered down

Draft at a restaurant. A nice translucent brown with reddish reflects. Very thin white head with low retention, disappears within seconds. Smells quite sweet. Tastes sweet, with a very light chocolate and caramel taste. Somewhat earthy. I have to say this is my favorite from Keith’s so far, and quite an appreciable effort for a macro. I’d recommend it to friends who don’t know much about beer, to widen their horizons.

341ml brown bottle. Pours out a nice rich brown colour with a fast fading tan head. No lace. Grains in the nose, some sweetness, caramel. Taste has some caramel malts, grains, suggestion of cocoa, light hops. Very quick bitter note, lingering dark malts. Body is medium, typical macro carbonation. Didn’t mind this, and given the producer, it’s a good effort.

Was drinkable but boring. Smelled so promising when first opened. But extremely "watered" down and Downright disappointing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Commercial beer... Pure garbage. Next to no flavor from Chocolate Malt. No presence I hops. Neither sweet nor bitter.... Definatly not aromatic. The average beer consumer would find this indistinguishable from thier IPA or Blue for that matter.

Deep amber pour with a tight white head. The aroma is a little bit caramelly and toasty. There is a little bit of sweetness but also a sort of macroesque carbonation with a bit of lingering brown sugary sweetness. Okay

Mahogany colour with a thin lace on the glass. Metallic aroma. Amazingly no flavour and tastes just like all the others. Typical Keith’s sweetness with a chemical finish.
