COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A tribute to Alexander Keith’s leadership of the Atlantic Freemasons, this hop-forward ale balances the dominant notes of citrus and grapefruit of the aromatic Centennial hop with rich malt and a robust bitterness. It may be exclusive, but it won’t be a secret for long.

On tap at Fionn Maccools. Pours copper in colour with a slightly off white head. Tastes like its made with malt and hops, decent hop profile. Probably still brewed with corn. Worth a tick.

Pint at D’Arcy McGee’s. Clear deep amber with a thin white head. Relatively decent pine and resin, reasonable toast crust, peppery, smells like a rye beer, a wee touch of tang, not bad at all. Medium body, moderate effervescence. A bit thin, decent peppery, resinous hops, a bit lacking in malt support, a bit of rye crust, minerals, decent; dry with fair bitterness and a reasonable if stern light brown sugar finish with some resin and pine.

Saw this one in the local paper, advertising a 50 IBU instead of their regular IPA at 17 IBU. Pours a clean amber colour with a small off-white cap, and a bit of lacing. Light fruity malt nose with very mild hop. Decent mouthfeel with some stickiness and some dryness. Fruity malt taste with mild hop again, light roasted malt and bitterness in the finish. Grain eventually comes out. One of the better Keith’s products, getting closer to a real IPA (but still lacking some attack). At least, no corn was felt in this one like most of their beers.
