Hops really overwhelm the taste. Sits nicely on the palate. Decent. Sully (1367), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia
| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Aug 9, 2005 There I was walking past Crows Nest cellars the other day when I happened upon a new beer at the entrance. I had a look and commented that I hadn’t had it to the bloke who knows I rate beers for fun. "$40 a case", he trumpeted. Whoa tiger, I need to taste it first."Oh, OK, then its $14 a six-pack". Uh, no, got any singles? As it turned out someone had already broken a sixer so I was able to pay the paltry $3.50 for something that was promising it was an IPA. Well if that is an IPA my name is Gurdeep Ranjit Aloy Joshi the third. Pale colour and poor head, sticky sweetness on the nose and taste, and an altogether mediocre beer. For those who claim this could be a session beer I question what session you are talking about. Surely not one where you can sit and drink large quantities of this with your mates. This wasn’t a drainpour but it came close. Fantomas23 (463), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Aug 2, 2005 It’s called an IPA but it doesn’t really taste like an IPA. There’s a lack of that ending hop-bitterness associated with the style. This drinks cleaner but kind of watery. At first taste, I thought I was drinking a lager. I had this while visiting Toronto and was unimpressed. HazelRah (276), Summerland, British Columbia, Canada

Hilarious TV ads are balanced by people thinking that the product is an actual IPA. Smooth nutty flavour leads people to think that IPAs are all like this when in reality a beer like Hophead is a better example. Having said that, it is an alright session ale and were it not appropriating the IPA moniker it would receive a higher rating from me.
I emailed the brewery and specifically asked whether they use an ale or lager yeast and they said it was brewed as an ale. Too bad they forgot the hops though... Ported (67), Ontario, Canada
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jul 31, 2005 Drinking now, bottled. Smells sweet, slight honey and wheat, bit skunky. Dark colour for a IPA, Small white head, leaves some lacing. Very Carbonated, typical macro in taste. NOT a IPA. GiBrew (171), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jul 19, 2005 This is just a regular mass-produced Lager - not an IPA a LAGER. Golden yellow, very fizzy, very carbonated, very little taste....boooring fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA

IPA or blonde, either way it was just a plain beer. Non-descript aroma with a light wheat flavor. Quite refreshing, but not exciting.
