Slacks (360), Bolton, Ontario, Canada May 22, 2006 Updated: Sep 23, 2006 Original Rate: 5/22/06 1/2/5/2/12 355ml Bottle: I imagine this was sadly better when it was an independent, although the product currently being served is quite bad. This is singly the worst smelling beer I’ve ever had the displeasure of whiffing on, it was almost insulting. Light in colour, heavily carbonated (as with anything brewed by Labatt, who apparently have confused their products with soda). Flavour is slightly nutty, malty, quite watery, and absolutely nothing like an IPA. Next.

Re-Rate - Draught @ The Black Bull, Bolton: Oddly my ratings and taste have improved, which means while I enjoyed this more on draught, my rating has dropped. Draught Keith’s offered a far less offensive taste, but a far inferior appearance, appearing listless and empty as an extra pale ale head free until I shook it like a British nanny. Flavour remains the same with a highly watery malt/nut blend that has less in common with an IPA than most hoppy lagers I’ve tried. I’ll still take a pass.
BOLTZ7555 (600), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Nov 18, 2008 10 karat gold with a 1/4 inch white head. Citrus, minimal pine, and just enough honey to round this out. Very average in every way. terrybail (185), , Ontario, Canada Oct 28, 2008 Bottle at TJ Baxters
Standard mass pruduced pale ale
Really tasteless
Just average for me dude! cakanator (40), Northampton, Massachusetts, USA Oct 27, 2008 oh my god really... this is the last thing from being an IPA. No hop profile, its sour with no flavor whatsoever. Thank god I don’t live near this beer. PaulHegedus (177), Brampton, Ontario, Canada Oct 12, 2008 IPA what? This is the most notoriously mislabelled beer in the world. It is regularly sold as a premium here in Ontario, though a blind taste test would make it hard to separate from other commercial macros. Bottle: pours golden, clear with almost no carbonation. The head raced to to disappear. The aroma is sour, faint with some weak citrus. Body is thin. In the flavour, there is bitterness, but it does not taste like hops. Bland. superdude1979 (39), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 11, 2008 If I had rated this beer 8 years ago before I had tasted actual good beer this would have gotten a perfect score. Undergrad in Halifax, anyways. This beer has absolutly no hops falvour compared to real IPA beers, probably why it is so popular. I drink this beer out of sheer nostelgia, because there are many better IPA’s out there, though Canada is Lager dominated so any mainstream ale seems to be different.
