And then there are those who don’t like it. Watery, and tastes like they tried to make an ale by fermenting with a lager yeast and warm temperatures. One of the most cidery beers to see the light of day.

341 ml bottle. Pale golden beer with a thin white head. Almost no aroma, light fruity aroma, no malt, no hops. Flavour is thin, a bit of bubble gum esters, light grapiness. Light-bodied beer, but better than I would have thought.

Can. Pale yellow body, with a small white head. Funky unpleasant aroma. More watery than water, this is virtually devoid of flavour. Touch of something in the finish but that is about it. Wow.

Very mild aroma is somewhat grainy with a lemon-citrus tone. Clear pale golden colour with huge, pillowy, white head that recedes rapidly to cover with some lace. Very mild grainy malts with some sweet citrus tone and a surprising hint of herbal hops. Light, refreshing body is somewhat watery with moderate to strong carbonation. Stem glass, fridge temp. Can (RBSG’05 leftovers).

For the record, this beer is 4% alcohol and really fits more into the pale lager category. Not really complex at all, the only saving grace for this beer is the fact that it has a wee bit more hop character than most light lagers from Canada. In the end it comes across as very thin, and it leaves you searching for something to talk about.

[1849-20081103] Tap. Mild yeasty grains aroma. Clear, pale yellow brown body with a long-lasting creamy white foam. Creamy yeast flavour has a mild grain to it. Light-medium body. Surprisingly not horrible.

Tap@Red Stag Tavern, Alexander Keiths Tap Room, Halifax. Golden beer with a lightly hopped aroma and a gently dry and hopped flavour. Overall an average lager like beer.

Draft. Poured a clear light gold color with a thin white head. Not much aroma other than whiffs of grass, dill pickle, and pale grain. Light bodied with diluted flavors of pale malt, grassy hop, and soda water. Eh.

Draft in a sampler at the Red Stag Tavern. Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head that leaves some lace in the glass. Faint aroma. Very dry. Corn, pale malts, paper, and a hint of citrus. Light-bodied, with medium-high carbonation. Boring.
