Bottle. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty grainy aroma. Fruity malty grainy flavor with weak hoppy hints. Has a sweetish malty grainy finish.

Bottle from Total Wine in Roseville, CA. Pours amber/gold with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is bready with a little fruity hop. Near med body. Bready like a premium lager with some citrus/fruit hop. Not spicy to me. It is just moderately bitter. Could be a lawnmower beer. If used as session beer it better be a short session.

Bottle. Poured clear amber color with a frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate balanced aroma with a click moderate balanced sweet finish of average duration. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Soft drinkable beer.

hopscotch (8215) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 21, 2011
Draft… Clear golden ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The nose is mashy and malty – pale malts – with a clear lack of any substantial hop aspect. Medium-bodied with stinging carbonation. The flavor is bland and boring, but well-balanced and quite drinkable. Definitely more of a malty influence than any real hop character here as well. Finishes crisp and a bit grainy.

Bottle at Sander’s place in NYC. Pours clear gold with a small, white foam head. Lightly toasted malts in the nose, mild caramel and straw. Medium sweet flavor, sweet bread, grains. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet, slightly syrupy finish, faint leaves and grain, some toasted sugar. It’s nothing special, though slightly better than the Nova Scotia Brown Ale.

12oz bottle pours clear copper / gold with white head. The aroma offers up a mix of spicy hops and earthy hops with a bit of roasted malts and sweet malts in the background. The taste is similar with spicy and floral hops backed up by some earthy hops, a bit of roasted malts and malt sweetened floral hops into the finish.

Sampled on 3/2/2012. This English Pale Ale pours a light amber color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, caramel, biscuit and sweet. A light to medium bodied English Pale Ale. The malts are mild, bready and biscuit. The hops are floral and earthy. Quickly vanishing carbonation. Kind of watery and mild. I keep thinking diet coke and soda, not that it’s a bad thing, its just not very good either. And it’s a more soda tah diet coke. Can I use the word Meh? Fits this beer perfectly. Beer Rating number 5000 or my personal list and by tradition I try and find a horrid beer for the milestone, I am traveling and this was the worst beer I had access to. I did not feel like running down to the local liquors store and grabbing something really bad. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle, this brewed in St Louis. Poured with a pedestrian appeal, light amber, just a thin head. It drinks with a odd perfume-laden scent, sweet and musty. Although it’s odd up front, perhaps it’s because I expected less -- it actually grows on me as I go. Not bad. (#4359, 11/20/2011)

4/26/11. 12oz bottle. Clear orange pour with a big fluffy off-white head that cuts quickly but laces a bit. Plain musty aroma with a hint of citrus. Sweet malty flavor with a hint of citrus and pine. Very straightforward. Meh.

PorterPounder (4611) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 10, 2011
Tallahassee, Fl. - Publix Supermarket, 12 oz bottle. Sparkling medium golden pour, frothy white head, good lacing. Pretty much of a neutral aroma with just a hint of grain. Flavor is dull and grainy with no real bitterness or fruitiness - no ale-like qualities. Slight nuttiness reedeem it a bit. Mouthfeel is bland and lifeless.
