mcberko (124), British Columbia, Canada Oct 14, 2009 Looks way better than it tastes. Pours an opaque, golden colour. Mouthful is watery and quite bland, but just drinkable. McGarnigle (303), Rochester, New York, USA Sep 27, 2009 Big can. Pours golden, somewhat darker than most whites. The upshot is, there’s some faint citrus and spice flavors, but also a lousy adjuncty aftertaste. Basically a pale lager with some added wit notes. DuffMan (2721), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Sep 26, 2009 On tap at the Elbow River Casino in Calgary. Barely hazy golden (certainly not cloudy), small brief white head. Aroma is sweet with a hint of curacao. Flavour is sweet sweaty grains with a vague orange flavour. Thin, almost watery really. Quite disappointing, and I echo swiseman’s sentiment that this is an obvious market grab using the bare-minimum requirements to try and establish character. swiseman (200), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada Aug 27, 2009 thin head, cloudy appearance. taste is completely lacking and highly disappointing. mild citrus, but very thin body. Like they did with their red, it appears that Keith’s is trying to capitalize on the success of Richard’s white. While neither brand produces a true representation of the style, Richard’s is miles ahead with both their red and their white. decimator (41), Ontario, Canada Aug 15, 2009 Updated: Sep 30, 2009473ml can poured into pint glass. Appearance: I like the cloudy golden yellow color but the white head disappeared rather quickly. Aroma: citrus fruits, some spice, faint aroma of grains. Flavor: Noticeable tangy taste from the citrus flavors. Spices are not as prominent as other witbiers I’ve had. And a little hop bitterness at the end.The balance seems just a bit too fruity and just not enough spice. Palate: Average carbonation. Texture has some creaminess to it due to being unfiltered. Certainly a quite drinkable beer as is goes down pretty easy yet it has just enough flavor to satisfy my palate without overpowering it. Keith’s interpretation of a witbier is pretty decent. It’s one of my go to brews for something refreshing but there are better ones out there. JRHBrew (217), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada Aug 12, 2009 I wish anbl still got Hoegaarden or blanche de chambly (spelling). All we have now is this and Rickards white. I think I prefer Rickards and believe it is technically better, but this has a certain niceness. kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 11, 2009 Can from LCBO (Toronto, ON). Pours a hazy golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of banana, coriander, cloves, honey, wheat, grass, yeast. Flavor is sweet and floral with notes of light citrus, banana, honey, light spice. Generally light body with a light fruit and spice finish. Aroma is better than the taste. ZTO (5), Alberta, Canada does not count Aug 3, 2009 HAHAHAHAHA seriously? a witbier? what a waste of time. i would seriously look forward to drinking WAY too much of this, puking in my mouth, and reviewing my vomit higher that the beer. the end.
