Can poured into pilsener glass. Together with Lindeboom, Brand and Gulpener, Alfa is the only Dutch lager worthy of the name pilsener. It has a very pale straw color with a nice, dense head that lasts. Upon tasting this I immediately noticed the very soft spring water that is used in brewing this beer. That is what gives this lager its distinctive crispness. That combined with a nice hoppy taste and the subdued taste of fine malt, make Alfa a winner among Dutch pilseners.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2010 Bottle: Nice 1 finger white foamy head. Smell malts and some hops. Color is clear golden yellow. Taste is refreshing, well balanced malts, hops and water. With a very slight hint of bitterness towards the aftertaste. Brewed to the reinheitsgebot with water from their own spring. One of the best Dutch pilsners.

Bottle. Probably the most translucent beer I’ve had. And that doesn’t just apply to the pour. The nose is transparent, the taste is non existence, and I feel I’ve just wasted .88 cents.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow beer with a good white head. Nothing special about this Pilsener. Just a random Dutch lager which can be bought at any local supermarket. Refreshing, ok beer.

Lot of foam, hardly any smell and also hardly any color. Unfortunately also hardly any flavor. Slight bitterness and dry. Still a beer I’d finish when having dinner. I had bottle #031785A

Soft tasting pilsner, a little bit CO2, slighly hoppy (dry), nice pilsner.

A clear yellow colored beer, with a thick white head. The aroma of malts with straw and fresh fruits. The taste is malty, with fruits like citrus, gentle sweet with not much bitterness. The aftertaste has a little bitterness and some sweets.

Bottle. [thank you, Skortila/caesar]
Pours pale golden with a slight green hue. Lots of bubbles reach up a thin, frothy, white head. Aroma has light bready malts, a citric touch and a little grass. Medium carbonation, a bit watery. Flavour is relatively sweet, some maize and bready malts. Light bitterness in the finish. Good with a chili-heavy dinner :o)
