Since the spring of 1993, the tradition of tenacious brewing has been continued with a new beer – Alfa Lentebok. Like other bock beers, Lentebok is a seasonal beer, and is brewed in limited quantities only. The first hops of the new harvest are used for Alfa Lentebok. It is a real spring beer with a fresh taste. The alcohol percentage is 6.5% by volume. The proper serving temperature is 8/9°C.

Currently I am updating my ratebeer with al the beers I drank but was too lazy to rate at the time. I give the scores I gave back than. If I drink the beers again I might re-rate them.

Really rather sweet ad malty for a lente bok. Winter is not the right time for this. Has a weird sourness as an aftertaste.

It’s always spring in the eyes of the dentist’s assistent, so I don’t care it’s the first of October right now. Bottle @ home. Clear light amber colour with a medium sized, somewhat dense head. Smells sweet, malts, grassy, fresh even though it probably isn’t. Tastes malty, sweetish, somewhat grassy, slightly hoppy. Pretty decent for a beer like this I guess. Doesn’t make me excited, but finishing it won’t be a problem either. Thin to medium body, soft carbo.

Very typical, I would almost say ’classic’ Dutch pale bock, a spring tradition. Snow white, dense, finely textured head, quite stable, colour a cristal-clear orangey blonde, approaching amber. Nose gets sweetish malts (caramel) and floral hops with hints of vanilla, wild flowers, orange liqueur, candi syrup and honey, so a fresh kind of ’spring sweetness’ prevails. Taste soft maltiness and a gentle candi-like and even sugary sweetness, however not really sticky, hint of honey, mild carbonation, finishing in floral, very subtle aromatic hops without really turning bitter - which would not be desirable in this particular style anyway. Fresh, very decent and very true to its style, whether you like lenteboks or not.

Deep golden color. Sweetish honeyish and toffeish aroma with some flowery and grassy notes.

Alfa lente bok is een lekker fris lentebock met een licht bittere afdronk maar door de frisse lichte smaak en het ietwat gebrek aan mondgevoel drinkt het meer als een pils dan als een lentebock.

Clear light amber with nice white head. Lots of sweet malts, light spice, broccoli, honey and cardboard. Medium bodied. Yeah, not my thing at all, but similar to others in the style.

Bottle 30cl. Clear amber color, good frothy off-white head mostly lasting, nice lacing; sweet malty aroma, grain, caramel, bit toasted, herbal hops; moderate sweet, mild bitterness; medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, bit fizzy on the tongue; smooth bittersweet finish, bit alcoholic
