2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
I don’t really get the point of this beer. This is just like the regular Alfa Pils (which is actually quite good), but added with a whole lot of fermentable sugar to get more alcohol. Result is the regular pils plus a pungent sweet flavour and noticeable alcohol in the aftertaste, making the beer lose its balance.

Can @ Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig. Love the look of this retro can. You know you’re getting into some serious swill. The pour’s gold with a small head. Golden honey, cereal grain. Apples. The taste is similar. Some newspaper. Honeyed apple. Slightly hot sugary finish. Full body, moderate carbonation. Overall, one you’d want to finish before it gets warm enough to taste.

Pours a fizzy copper with a thick white head. Taste is far too sweet with seemingly no bitterness.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
oranje/amber helder met schuimige witte kraag
zwaar zoet, alcoholisch, zwaar moutige/granige smaak
alcohol toch redelijk verborgen, medium body, kan me niet erg bekoren.

50cl can shared by Joes @ weekly tasting. Clear golden color, full sized white head. Smell and taste malts, slightly hayish, lightly bitter, but also a light sweet hint. Average body and carbonation.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
50cl can at home. Clear golden with a medium white head. Medium body with soft carbonation. Malts, hops, vanilla and some alcohol. A strong beer, but nothing special.
(A 1 for appearance, because when it comes out of a can it has no appearance at all..)

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Tough one with lots of vanilla and alc in the aroma. When cold enough very drinkable. Still not a quality superstar.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Can. Pours out in a deep golden colour with low head and smooth body. Nose of hops and malt. Taste of strong alcohol, straw, clover, mild hops and cereals. Not easy to drink since the finish is quite awful...too sour, too sweet, too dustx. Didn’t enjoy it.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a 500 ml can I didn’t expect too much from this one to tell you the truth, and so I wasn’t disappointed. It pours a deep golden yellow colour with a big, soapy head that goes slow but steadt, leaving no lacing on the glass. Smell is nothing extra-ordinary, malts and hops. Taste is as bitter as any other lager, with the high ABV making clear it’s there. Medium thick in body and average carbonation.
Bottom line, an average lager with a high ABV, good if your girlfriend/wife has left you alone for the weekend to visit her mother and you want to catch up with your drunken evenings = get drunk fast.
