Alfa Hellenic Beer is a lager beer, with 5% alcohol content with it’s authentic Greek name and origin, that make it more familiar to Greeks and non-Greeks around the world. It is refreshing, easy to drink and brings to ones memory the authentic taste of Greece! Alfa’s unique light gold color and rich foam is the ultimate pleasure-maker. It is made of high quality natural ingredients (water, barley malt, hops and yeast) and its packaging is distinctive, with the bottle being a more modern version of the original Alfa bottle.

Clear pale color with white head. Very weak malty aroma. Taste is a bit stronger, bitter and malty. An ordinary cheap lager.

Can. Pours clear golden with airy white head. Faint aroma of yeast, with nanotouches of malt. Bitter flavour of hops (enhanced by metal), with sweetish notes of malt and yeast, both of inferior quality. Bready hints. Sweetish, malty aftertaste. Drinkable but I would certainly prefer something else, even on a hot day in Athens.

Can, 5%. Papery, slightly ashy aroma. Clear golden colour. Big stable chalk white head. The flavour is watery with a mild maltiness and a low bitterness. If not for the watery character of the beer, I am sure the faint floral aroma hop would not be detected - but it is there. Clean and harmless.

Bottle - unable to pour out of bottle, pretty typical euro pale lager aroma and flavor, mildly dry finish, not bad for what it is though ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aluminum can, best by March 2017, poured into a cup. Slightly hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is nice grain, light body, very low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is light grain.

0,5l bottle on Lesbos. A typical macro lager. Corny, bland, artificially sweet. Fizzy hard carbonation, oily, medium body. Meh.

0,5l fles in xania op Kreta. Erg vlak en zoet pils bier, totaal gebrek aan enige vorm van diepgang, puur gebrouwen om het zo snelmogleijk naar binnen te kunnen hijsen.

Draft in Thessaloniki. Clear golden yellow with a small white head. Grain, grass, sight honey aroma. Flavor is typical pale lager, light and bland. Not much interesting. Light body, crisp, meh finish. It’s what it is. It’s all Greek to me.

Originally rated on 7/31/08. Pours a medium yellow body, ample carbonation with a mid sized white cap, however it had floaters (yeast?), not common for this style. Smell of sweet malts, light hops, good lacing. Rather average beer all the way around.
