Alfa Hellenic Beer is a lager beer, with 5% alcohol content with it’s authentic Greek name and origin, that make it more familiar to Greeks and non-Greeks around the world. It is refreshing, easy to drink and brings to ones memory the authentic taste of Greece! Alfa’s unique light gold color and rich foam is the ultimate pleasure-maker. It is made of high quality natural ingredients (water, barley malt, hops and yeast) and its packaging is distinctive, with the bottle being a more modern version of the original Alfa bottle.

Bottle from Jacob’s Liquor near Denton, TX. Pours a clear gold with minimal lasting white fizzy head. Aroma of skunky grass....Flavor has a skunky hop taste as well and would have been a horrible beer if the crisp clean maltiness did not come through, actually, this is similar to a Heineken. Mouth feel is light with very high carbonation. Over all, it isn’t a BAD beer.

Bottle 50 cl. I just rated alfas friend Mythos... dropped a score of 1.8...I was nice...this one is worse. Pours a light yellow with a thin white head. Crappy nose... a bitter citrus-like body and thin as hell... a thirst-killer and thats it...

Bottle: Pours a yellow gold with a nice white head and nice lacing. Nose of light toasty malt, some vague hop notes and a thin body. Thin and light flavor, mostly watery, a general international lager. Vague finish. At least it’s all malt.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2008 Big thanks to Stithorn for bringing this beer back from Greece for me! Thanks. Can. Pours a clear gold with a medium, but quickly dissipating white head. The aroma is mostly skunk, with some light vegetable and hops notes. The taste is a fairly sweet malt, some honey and maybe some hops. Not really that bad, just another Pale Lager, but my first Greek rating.

Strong hoppy aroma. Quite a bitter taste but certainly full flavoured for a lager. It is neither bland nor watery.

bottle. Poured a clear, very light amber with a thin white head. Typical lager nose with a bit of grassiness. Taste was fairly standard for a lager with some grass although it was sweet. Mouthfeel was medium-to-thin and watery. So-so.

A golden beer with 2 inches of dense white foam. Smells like sugar, and corn syrup. Tastes like adjunct grains and some pungeant, bitter hops on the finish. Overwhemingly sweet, like a soda, not beer.

Green-glassed bottle. Artificial, cloying aroma, hard to stomach at times, reminds also of the laundry room where the cat food was kept in the guest family’s house. Golden body, clear with a dense and gleaming white head. Taste is gratingly, glaringly sweet, cloying and nearly undrinkable, with hay, honey, and lost of harsh graininess. Touch of corn. Lingers on the lighter side of medium. Really only bearable when you get to drinking it quickly, and even then the aftertaste is a mess.
