Alfa Hellenic Beer is a lager beer, with 5% alcohol content with it’s authentic Greek name and origin, that make it more familiar to Greeks and non-Greeks around the world. It is refreshing, easy to drink and brings to ones memory the authentic taste of Greece! Alfa’s unique light gold color and rich foam is the ultimate pleasure-maker. It is made of high quality natural ingredients (water, barley malt, hops and yeast) and its packaging is distinctive, with the bottle being a more modern version of the original Alfa bottle.

Another pale, watery lager available around Greece to make you thing they have alternatives to Heineken. But if it’s hot enough, you drink anything, right? And it not bad, just boring.

Mid-golden, dead carbonation, light floaties, thin white skin. Catty aroma fades quick but leaves behind an essence of dung. Additional grassy and grainy notes, but who cares... I smell horse crap. Thin, creamy mouthfeel. Adequate flavoring for a pale lager: minimal adjuncts with mild sweetness o’er a base of grains. Aroma ruins all.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2007 Bottled 0,50L. Vanishing and friable foam. Yellow pale color, extinguished and deprives of any kind of fizz. Nearly nonexistent scent, watery and with light rumors of wishy-washy cereals. Smooth, watery, and too much homogenous taste, lacking in peculiarity. To forget.

250ml and 400ml draft at the Sunset restaurant in the old town of Platanias, Crete. Straw yellow. Small head. Grassy aroma. Rounded taste with hint of lemon. High carbonation. Light bodied. Had red wine (Makedonikos) to the mousaka (29.05.2006).

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2006 Not bad, not great. A very standard lager. Some bitterness and some hoppiness. White top and pours golden. They serve it at my local greek restaurant. That’s why I like it!

(bottle - 33 cl) Pale yellow pour with a lot of fizzy white foam. Very light and gentle aroma of mainly hops with a touch of malt. Taste begins with a crisp grassy and hoppy taste that moves to a rather watery middle and has a malty finish with a lingering bitter hop aftertaste on the palate.

This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of frothy finely sized of unnoted length white colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained average carbonation, was transparent with a slight haze and unnoted in color. Its aroma contained notes of grassy and was very skunky. Its mouth feel is tingly crisp with a mellow palate and a hoppy malty aftertaste. Its flavor contained malty hoppy notes. It was not all that bad once you got past the smell.

A "present" from a greek island. A weak, strawy aroma and a boring, light grainy and watery taste. Sweet, light dry finish. Next time, please let this beer where it was brewed.

bottle at greektown in detroit, mi. out of all the greek beers they had (maybe 5?) i picked this one because the "A" on the label was the easiest thing to read. i expected it to be a crappy greek heineken, but i was surprised that it had a nice malty body. very clean, one of the better pale lagers i’ve had. i would certainly drink this again!

Can enjoyed cold in 27 C on Rhodes: Golden coloured. Clear. Dense white head. Really dosn’t have much to say about this beer. Find it quite shitty with nothing special to offer tastebuds or palate. Is very sweet and grainy. Shitty beer.
