Alfa Hellenic Beer is a lager beer, with 5% alcohol content with it’s authentic Greek name and origin, that make it more familiar to Greeks and non-Greeks around the world. It is refreshing, easy to drink and brings to ones memory the authentic taste of Greece! Alfa’s unique light gold color and rich foam is the ultimate pleasure-maker. It is made of high quality natural ingredients (water, barley malt, hops and yeast) and its packaging is distinctive, with the bottle being a more modern version of the original Alfa bottle.

Can. Pours yellow with a decent, white head. Aroma is maltiness, light grass. Taste is along the same lines. Pretty decent for this kind of beer.

Pours a clear golden color, topped with an average white frothy head. It has a mild malty aroma with some grainy notes present as well. Taste is slightly sweet with a decent bitterness in the body. Dry finish. Crisp and refreshing, not bad but nothing special.

Can 0,33L. Courtesy of Kita. Clear, pale golden colour with small, creamy white head and almost no visible carbonation. Sweety aroma of biscuits, honey and bready malts. Taste is light bitter and grassy. Medium body, dry texture and soft carbonation. Typical lager, but better than I expected to be.

330 ml can. BB 10/2015. From some supermarket in Athens, Greece. Clear golden colour with a mid-size foamy white head. Apple juice and malt in the aroma. Quite neutral. The flavour is malt and even mild note of hops. One of the better Greek mass lagers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle served in an ordinary glass. Drank at the beach in Mykonos - Greece. Pours a pale yellow clear color forming a big and aired white head. Low retention and only few lacings formed and left in the glass. Pale sweet malts in the nose, followed by the citrus Heineken-style hops. Taste follows the nose. Malty and crispy. Light hops bitterness. Grassy-style hops. A bit metallic. Hints of cardboard. Some hints of adjunct malts. Faint carbonation. Low drinkability. Low quality Euro Lager. [BA Review @ 5/29/2014]

Continuing my tour of shitty beer. Green bottle, pours a clear orangey yellow with a white foam head. Aroma of wet rocks, wet leaves, corn. Taste is slightly bitter, pretty one note.

Poured from bottle to glass. Golden hue with white head that diminished to a thin ring. Aroma is straw, sulphur, skunk, grassy. Mouthfeel is ok with a light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry with a spicy hop following and sulphur finish. Overall this isn’t very good.

Santorini beer tour continued. Had this in the Athens airport lounge first and thought it was a subpar Euro lager. Then (completely objective, of course) had it on a catamaran tour around Santorini caldera from the can and it tasted great - crisp, cold, pretty clean - everything you want in a pale lager. I think the cold helped, not pouring it helped, and of course the scenery helped! In any case, this was probably the best lager I had in Greece.
