This is an example of a beer designed perfectly for its environment - a hot Athens evening. Drinkers experiencing the beer in damp or colder countries- beware, it is not recommended for these places as most of the refreshing and cooling qualities will be lost. This is an absolutely delicious and refreshing beer popular among local Greeks and German/Dutch tourists. The beer manages to quench thirst as well as refresh your taste buds with hints of apple and hops. One of the best pale lagers around and real pleasure giver in a hot climate.

from a green bottle. Had that aged noble hops aroma, you know a little like cabbage. Looks quite friendly yellah in my mug. good fresh initial flavors of amicable lager. not bad, pretty friendly. easy. enjoyable overall beer experiences. no bad feelings on the finish. Things are getting better around here. Just barely enough hop presence to minimize ill hop effects. Seriously, this is one good crisp pale lager.

Can shared at the Siren event at Craft Clerkenwell. Proper pale lager. Nice corn, cereal, a bit of hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Good sugary pale malts to finish. Classic. Nicely done, Greece.

Nice pale straw color finger of fizzy white foam... lots of carbonation. Bready nose with a hint of grass and sweet corn. Palate is light refreshing and clean with a nice balance of bitter spice and sweet light malt. Crushable.

This was my beer of choice for most of my holiday in lefkada. Its nice at lunch when its about 30c outside and the beer is cold so you donít mind it doesnít taste of a lot. It doesnít have a bitter after taste, its golden yellow with carbonation and lacing. It comes in bottles and on draft. Its pretty cheap too. The pic is a bit old tho.

A new category to compete with Lawnmower Beer. I call it Housework Beer. Worked up a sweat with the vaccuum and grabbed this single from the fridge. Green bottle. Strong grassy aroma. Dark amber. Pretty straight forward clean grain and grass flavour. Decent hop level.

Alfa Hellenic beer has a thick, white head and a clear, golden appearance. Carbonation is medium to high, and a nice bit of lacing is present down the glass. The aroma is of fine barley, and a tad of a hop smell can be picked up. Taste is mostly barley, and it is balanced, with a decent hop back end. Mouth-feel is light to medium, and Alfa finishes refreshing and not as dry as American lagers. Overall, I enjoyed this, and was glad it was not skunked (green bottle).
