COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Alfa Hellenic Beer is a lager beer, with 5% alcohol content with it’s authentic Greek name and origin, that make it more familiar to Greeks and non-Greeks around the world. It is refreshing, easy to drink and brings to ones memory the authentic taste of Greece! Alfa’s unique light gold color and rich foam is the ultimate pleasure-maker. It is made of high quality natural ingredients (water, barley malt, hops and yeast) and its packaging is distinctive, with the bottle being a more modern version of the original Alfa bottle.

I drank this in Corfu, in 2012 and for its price of 0.85Eur I can say that it’s an awesome beer. It’s refreshing and has a nice taste all around. Dan, Romania

A new category to compete with Lawnmower Beer. I call it Housework Beer. Worked up a sweat with the vaccuum and grabbed this single from the fridge. Green bottle. Strong grassy aroma. Dark amber. Pretty straight forward clean grain and grass flavour. Decent hop level.

Alfa Hellenic beer has a thick, white head and a clear, golden appearance. Carbonation is medium to high, and a nice bit of lacing is present down the glass. The aroma is of fine barley, and a tad of a hop smell can be picked up. Taste is mostly barley, and it is balanced, with a decent hop back end. Mouth-feel is light to medium, and Alfa finishes refreshing and not as dry as American lagers. Overall, I enjoyed this, and was glad it was not skunked (green bottle).

Bottle. Pours a deep golden, with an average white head. aroma is skunky, grassy hops and slightly toasty cereal. Flavour is much the same, with the pale malts standing out notably compared to North American pale lagers. This reminds me of what Heineken used to be, 20 years ago when it was still an import, before it became a derivative shitty contract-brewed fuck-up of a pale lager. This gave me nostalgia and satisfaction, which is more than I can say for 95% of the pale lagers I’ve had.

Draught. Pours clear yellow, with decent and durable white head, with faint lacing. Sweet hops on the nose, and zesty on the palate. Pleasant enough beer.
