2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 rickgordon (3764) - Göteborg, - FEB 25, 2006
Bottled.
Sampled at Plain Kitchen, Göteborg.
Dark brown colour, very dark. Ugly white, cottony head with small bubbles. Very nice aroma - malty with a chocolatey, slight caramelly, ozon-like appearance. Flavour is almost nothing: tiny tiny notes of choclate and licorice. Ia it műnchener malt that gives the spitzy feeling in flavour? There is a little bitterness.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Onslow (708) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - MAY 11, 2012
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Dark, clear brew with a tan head. Glowers a deep deep brown / red when held up to the sun. Aroma of roasted malt, teaberry, a little grass. Taste is a lightly sweet / roasted malt at the start that transitions to a solidly roasted malt finsih. A little alcohol in the finish. Good character and complexity and very tasty.

Aroma is dark malts and a mild nuttiness. The flavor is similar to the aroma. Kind of thin and not strong in flavor but a decent enough dunkel.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 rondphoto (606) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - APR 3, 2012
Hazy, very dark amber with no head (even on the pour) or lace. Disappointing. Thin caramel that hides under buzzy carbonation, no growth, no bittering, watered down. Better not.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 KickInChalice (771) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 28, 2012
From notes. First reviewed 12/13/2010. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Alhambra Negra has a dark brown color with a ruby tint in the shallow part of the glass. Clear and a little watery in the edge of the glass. Big carbonated bubbles hug the side of the glass, and a small off-white head forms but fades quite rapidly and leaves no lace on the glass.
Slightly metallic caramel and roasted malt aroma.
The taste starts with a light molasses sweetness, but there is a contrived, manufactured, extract flavor to the taste. Slightly roasted coffee, and a bit of chocolate malt.
Hmm, this could have had a crisper mouthfeel. Just comes across with a medium carbonation and a little bit watery.
After a few moments of deliberation, I cannot think of any reason to go out and buy this. Any bar or store that has this will have better beers available.
