Pours black with a thin head. Faint hint of coffee on the nose. Bits of licorice on the tongue. Finish is solid. This one doesn’t do it for me.

0.5l bottle traded with ElDesmadre. This one pours a clear deep ruby body with a nice medium sized beige and bubbly head. On the aroma I get a little bit of red fruits, cranberries perhaps, with a thin tone of caramel and dark malts. Not extreme. It has a nice light oily texture with a soft to average carbonation level. It tastes kinda funny I guess. Well, perhaps not funny but it’s quite kind for a Baltic Porter to be. It’s dark malty in taste with clear fruity tones. Kinda on the sweet side, but not to far out there. Ends with a hint of bitterness in the finish and actually a light warming and almost boozy tone in the aftertaste. Yeah, by far the best one I’ve had from Belarus! 26.04.2012
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JulienHuxley (1148) - Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, CANADA - APR 9, 2012
On tap. Very dark red pour with creamy off white head - very pretty. Very malty aroma, dark caramel, plums, slightly roasty/smokey with a strange belgian twist. Taste is rich and sweet, good malty flavor, some smoke, mineral notes and dark fruits. Palate is thick, rich and well carbed, slightly overdone. A decent beer even though it didn’t correspond at all to what I expected style-wise.

500ml bottle (Beer Barrel, Vilnius)
Sweetish caramel aroma. Now I’ve seen the ingredients, I can see why. Deep red, light tan head. Again, a caramelly body. Quite similar to the baltic states baltic porters, but more obviously with sugar as an ingredient. Fortunately it’s not too sticky, despite the sweetness. It’s a full smooth body, just shy of slick. Doesn’t feel like the 6.5% on the label, but the baltic porters never do. A pretty tasty strong dark lager, but nothing more.

Bottle from the Belarussian pavilion at VDNKh, the awesome Stalin-era theme park in Moscow, near to the Beer-Rulka brewpub. Reddish-brown. The aroma is caramel and butter. The taste is basically caramel. Vague breadcrust notes. Bland dark lager masquerading as a proper Baltic porter.
