>> Clear sepia pour with thick cappuccino foam. Impressive webby lacing. Nose is spicy hops, waxy dark chocolate, pine forest, chocolate truffle, . Taste is a tad cocoa powdery, but it is well bittered, drier, and lightly acidic with a medium body for style. Quick, neutral finish. Very nicely executed and does make a strong case for imperial porter, however nebulous that style is, versus imperial stout. I feel, though, that the palate is a bit too chalky like there is too much sediment even though this was poured carefully, 1/8 of bottle left at the bottle, and was left upright in the fridge for days before opening.

DWG; Bottle 0,33 L. Pours almost black with a large, lasting, frothy to creamy, lacing and tan head. Nose is heavy roasted malt and coffee, chocolate, vanilla and dark, dried, ripe fruits. Taste is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a lasting, warming, coffee and chocolate finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily to creamy, carbonation is soft. "Rich yet balanced", indeed.
