COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Classic English Style Barley Wine is a strong ale, literally meaning wine from beer. It was once the strongest beer a brewer could make. This beer is big on malt, big on hops, and big on alcohol content. It can be enjoyed now and is also designed to age. Traditional Barley Wines are at their best between four months and six years. Ours is no exception.

I was really looking forward to this one as the Barley Wine was one of my favorites of his at the Red Star +++ Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a hazy dark amber color with a medium sized creamy white head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was semi-sweet pine and candied fruits. The flavor was tangy sugar with notes of tropical fruits, pine, faint caramel and touches of pepper and nut. The finish was long and a bit dry with lingering tropical fruits. Medium body. The alcohol was well hidden. Solid but not spectacular.

On tap at Bocktown. Sweet with rich honey triple notes, some alcohol, peach, biscuit. Pale golden hazy with no head. Heavy body with medium carbonation. Alcohol warming, bitter finish with underlying sweetness and ester notes. Lighter and more like a heavy tripel than a traditional English barleywine.

Not really english style, unless you age it and then I think it has potential, on tap at the bocktown monaca. Looks like pale lager. Just a little hazy. Sweet cotton candy attractive aroma makes me want to gulp this stuff. Very thin creamy head. No co2. Heavy uncivilized alky background on the buds. Needs gentle aging. Burns going down. Strong beer fer sure. Whisky laced thing needs refining. Not a fan of this unaged style. Ignore my numbers if you like rude BW.
