The base beer, an amber of sorts, aged for three months in a Herradura tequila barrel. Smoky with some nutty and dried fruit charateristics.

Tap at the Gingerman, thanks to James for the pour, 18/05/13. Lightly hazed golden with a thin white head. Nose is tarte fruits, sugars, touch of booze. Taste comprises apricot, peach, lightly soured fruit tones, light spice, touch of booze soaked wood but couldnít pick out tequila! Full bodied, fine carbonation. Decent enough BA Belgian, plenty of depth to the flavours.

served in small 25cl Allagash glass at Novare Resí annual Gasharoo (27 Allagash taps!). No nose at all (Angie confirms this). Color hazy amber. Taste is a bit creamy, some notes of honey

Draft at Churchkey. Similar golden pour to the BAM. Nose and flavor are also similar with that nice sweet stone fruit and honey character mixing with a touch of apple sweetness from the tequila barrel. Ever so slight tequila bite. Dried apricot and caramel. Pretty tasty.

On draft at Churchkey DC on innauguration night. Pours a cloudy gd with a thick off white head. Yeast aroma reminiscent of paste. Wonderfully smooth mouthfeel with hints of caramel and toffee. Slightly bitter finish.

Draft at Blind Tiger with Linh and Andy. Pours a deep, hazy amber orange body with thin white lacing. Aroma is a sweet apple syrup booziness that Iíve experienced in the few tequila-infused beers Iíve tried. Thankfully not at all boozy or cloying on the palate. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of apple, light spice, sweet fruit, light tequila, and oak. Nice.

Tap at the Blind Tiger. Slightly sour, slightly salty aroma. Pungent, green melon, strawberry. Tequila is strong at first but dies down quick as the beer breathes and becomes quite controlled. Nice balance, all things considered. A bit heavy in malt.

Pouring at Belgian Beer Fest. Pours a hazed amber with a thin to medium sized white head. Soft musk, yeast, light funk on the nose. Sweet toast, then everything dries out. Yeast, long bready malt. Fairly dry after the initial sweetness. Musk, long yeast. Oddly, the alcohol here is hidden better than in BAM, which was not what I expecting. Didnít get much tequila in here, but I didnít get much mead in the other one.

Belgian Beer Fest Boston. Murky amber color, small tan head. Aroma of straw, perfume, liquor. Taste is sweet straw at first, with a hot finish. Not bad.
