Pale straw with big, flotsam, white head / Delicate perfumey, floral, nose of hay and citrus / Medium body, low carbonation, with good balance and big, bitter, finish / Delightfully elegant and astringent flavors of hay, cream, resin, orange, lemon, and oak / A great, light, Belgian blonde.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: FEB 20, 2012 Opaque gold, lacing, small bubbled white head with ring. Bit of soap and yeast start the nose, bit of bread, light hop bitterness. Heavy mango and citrus and dough flavor at front, mid palate pine hop followed by more mango and lemon and a strong grassy hop. Very creamy body, light bubbled, bit thin with warmth. Pleasent in all ways, balanced as well, very refined hop. Bitterness and creamy body clash a bit, but otherwise incredibly nice and drinkable. For me, best new beer of the 60+ I tried at Max’s 7th Belgian Beer Fest.
I have had 20+ glasses since 02/11. Every time it’s on at Max’s, I double fist out of fear it will kick. The hops are unreal in this, the yeast lightly estery but dialed down to allow an incredibly doughy pale structure. Endlessly effervescent, insanely drinkable, refreshing, amazing.
Another fifteen glasses on Sunday at Belgian Beer fest ’12. This batch is definitely less bright and dank than six months ago. Maybe it was because it followed 20 glasses of Jandrain VI.

One of my absolute favorites of EBF. Pours a hazy golden body with white head. Bread honey tones and light grass y but more so herbal hop tones like a well hopped pils. Nice spicy ale yeast to liven the body. Hints of citrus and herbs almost pepper like secondary to the yeast tones and lively body. Really fantastic.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Crackery malt nose, lots of floral hops, light lemon. Taste is fairly dry, moderately bitter, massive amounts of floral and grassy hops, light cracker malts, very crisp. Moderate carbonation, with a thick foamy head, soft texture. Lovely.

In short: A splendid crisp session blonde ale. Simply Wow!
How: Tap at Extreme Beer Fest 2011
The look: Cloudy yellow blonde body topped by a medium white head
In long: Nose of herbal hops over a bed of dried flowers. Taste has a clean malt bill that part bready, part crackery, part wheaty. A wide range of fruits including bananas, lemon, apples, more… Overall sensation of a countryside field. Clean, crisp, refreshing, superb. I can’t believe that my favorite beer at Extreme Beer Fest was a 5% session beer. Big Little is what we call an oxymoron, like non-alcoholic beer or underrated Cigar City.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
One of the best beers at EBF, period. Excellently clean and refreshing, with light fruitiness all over the place from a wonderful work of Belgian yeast. Fantastic stuff.

Phone rate. Draught at Blackback on Waterbury. Hazy light gold with a one finger creamy white, good retention. Yeasty banana and white pepper, moderate American citrus grassy hops, llight clove and verylight lemon following. Flavor follows with the fruity yeast, light lemon and pepper. Wow, quite nice. Well attenuated, semi-dry, bitterness 3. Low carbonation, light body. Very good beer.

Draft at Milltown. Word. Pale yellow, slight haze, small white lace. Nose is light phenols, yeast, lemon, bready. Flavor is very dry, mild sweetness. Could drink a good bit of this. Not crazy complex, but a well done session ale. Good job, bros.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sample at EBF 2011.
Appearance : Clear pale yellow with a small head.
Aroma : Great malt with nice citrusy and herbal hops.
Taste : Bready malt with nice herbal hops. Finish is realy malty with nice citrusy and herbal hops. Nice soft carbonation. Light spices.
Overall : Wow this is really good. Very drinkable and very tasty. Great malt and great herbal crisp hops. It felt very clean and even a bit lager-like for an ale and especially one that is fermented with belgian yeast. Always nice to have such a light and refreshing offering at a big beer fest.
