COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Allagash Black, our new Belgian style stout, is brewed with German 2 row barley, Torrified wheat and oats, balanced by a large addition of Belgian dark candi to give the Black a full and silky mouthfeel. Roasted malts give this stout its classic chocolate, toast and malty taste, and contribute to chocolate notes and a hint of roasted coffee in the aroma. The Black is fermented with a Belgian yeast strain and refermented in the bottle with the methode champenoise to make this beer truly unique. Availability: 750 ml bottles, 5.17 gal kegs ABV: 7.5% Original Gravity: 1.072 Recommended Serving Temperature: 55°F Recommended Cellaring Temperature: 55°F

Pours black with ruby red edges and small tan fizz. Smells of cocoa and dark fruits. Tastes of cocoa and a touch of fruitiness, though primarily it is just dry. Full-bodied with a silky texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Allagash Black finishes with a fruity dryness.

Bottle @ bros house from Bottleworks. Deep black appearance with a brown head with little retention. Sweet creamy, milky, roasty chocolate malt aroma. A little thin, roasty, slightly burnt, chocolate, milky flavor. Roasty milk chocolate aftertaste.

750mL bottle. Pours almost completely opaque with a foamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, yeast, other sweet & burnt notes, and a bit of booze. Taste is similar, with more yeast presence than on the nose. A bit sticky mouthfeel.

pours a dark brown, with an off-white/beige head. Aroma is roasty-yeasty, with a cooled dark coffee character. Taste begins with maybe more chocolate than coffee, with a distinctive belgian ale backdrop. Definitely more dark chocolate in the finish; an enjoyable bitterness. A really great belgian-style stout.
