COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Allagash Black, our new Belgian style stout, is brewed with German 2 row barley, Torrified wheat and oats, balanced by a large addition of Belgian dark candi to give the Black a full and silky mouthfeel. Roasted malts give this stout its classic chocolate, toast and malty taste, and contribute to chocolate notes and a hint of roasted coffee in the aroma. The Black is fermented with a Belgian yeast strain and refermented in the bottle with the methode champenoise to make this beer truly unique. Availability: 750 ml bottles, 5.17 gal kegs ABV: 7.5% Original Gravity: 1.072 Recommended Serving Temperature: 55°F Recommended Cellaring Temperature: 55°F

On Draft at Ballydoyle Bloomingdale. This beer is great, they bill it is a belgian style stout, not sure if that is what i would call it. Dark black in color, yet very clear. It drinks a lot lighter than i was expecting. Nice head out of the draft and into an allagash glass. I get some of the chocolate and roasted notes, very hard to describe, but it is the best beer i have had this year so far for sure.

Aroma is of malt and slight hops. A little mollasses and oats. Full and silky on the plate, the flavor is reminiscent of coffee with yeast. I love it!

Comes out of the tap a deep opaque sable with a fairly thick tan head - very appetizing. Aroma is like well-roasted mocha and has just a hint of caramel. Flavor is rich and ’’stouty’’ - smoky with strong coffee and unsweetened chocolate components - and has just a touch of sweetness. Finish is smooth and very pleasing. A winner!

Sweet, milky, chocolatey. Smooth. Wheat undertones. Not too heavy, but velvety.

Bottle thanks to Matt. Deep dark black in color with a off white head. Sweet candi sugar and roasty aroma. Roasty coffee malty flavor. Caramel candi sugar and chocolatety notes. Full bodied. Sweet tasting. Very carbonated. Finish is roasty. Very drinkable. Wow.

Pours dark w/ a full lasting head and superb lacing. Aromas of cocoa and dark fruit. Medium nectar w/ creamy, expansive residual effers. Beautifully balanced flavors of cocoa and darkfruit intermingle w/ a moderate roast component. A striking hop profile bitters this to a classic level. The finish lingers. One awesome brew!

Pours a hazy darker brown with very little head. Smells like roasted coffee. Palate is a little light with mild carbonation. Taste is roasted malt, sweet with a ice yeasty profile and subtle hop at the end. Unbelievable beer. Truly unbelievable beer that is a little rare in its style and therefore unappreciated. Way to go allagash!

Pours pitch black. Aroma is cocoa and light fruit. Flavor is primarily chocolate and coffee with light citrus and raisin undertones. This is a great stout for sure.

Absolutely stunning beer. One of the best stouts I’ve ever had. I bought it twice so far and I imagine i’ll be buying it many more times. Gets better when warm!
