It’s been awhile since I’ve had an Allagash product, as I always think they are incredibly overpriced for such a mostly average product. But this was a great, great beer. Tons of roasted malts, lots of choco-mocha flavors. Almost dessert like with the toffee, chocolate, coffee flavors. Aroma was nearly matching the aroma, but some really nice smokey aromas coming out. Very well attenuated and basically nails the FES style. Great beer.

Not very aromatic in my opinion. Taste a bit like caramel and coffee, clean, crisp finish. Light body. Meh.

Very carbonated in bottle. Deep black, smooth and creamy, not overpowering. Initial Belgian character that fades quickly.

Very good, not much of an aroma, what I found on usual. However it tastes like a very good stout. Smooth finish.

Pours a translucent black with medium head and minimal lacing. Aromas of bourbon, sweet citrus, and chocolate. Taste of sweet malts, licorice, raisin, and honey. Nice Belgian stout.

Coffee aroma with dark chocolate and coffee notes on the palate... Great flavor with a mild kick to the finish

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very nice black pour w/ a tan head that leaves a good ring of lacing. The aroma has a light roastiness to it. The flavor is fairly complex. The chocolate is quite soft & the finishing bitterness is mellow but it makes for a well rounded beer. I love the silky smooth mouthfeel. A very solid beer overall!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
355 ml. bottle poured in to a snifter. Dark brown colour with a dense, lightly tanned head. Roasted aroma with caramel, coffee, chocolate, liquorice and a typical Belgian yeasty note with an almost sour impression. More delicate than it sounds like. Taste is light sweet. Medium to full body, creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and roasted bitter with liquorice and yeasts. Very pleasant and smooth.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle to glass. Pours dark brown out of bottle with small tan head. Aromas of yest, malt and spice. Taste of chocolate roast and coffee followed by a bitter spiciness. Creamy and full bodied with lively carbonation. I really enjoyed this. Would buy again.
