3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Martinus (1878) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - JUN 9, 2013
Pale, slightly hazy pinkish colour, reminding of a rose hips drink. No head. Cherry aroma, wood and funk. Quite tart flavour, citrus, lemon peel, light astringent. Funky finish, cherry, wood and tannines.
Nice brew, but in both fruitiness and complexity it is blown away by its sister, the Coolship Red.

Pink strawberry gorgeous
Nose is raspberry lemons and watermelon.
Taste is wow. Loaded with raspberries and tart lemons. Woody and a very clean mildly sweet finish. Dry grape skin

Pours a hazy pink lemonade color with a two plus finger fizzy white foam. On the nose its tart cherry pie, crust and all, touch of lemon funk and a bit of basement dankness. The palate follows with great balance between sour and tart. This beer is delicious and maybe my favorite of all the coolships. Ripe round cherries add a nice sweet full mouthfeel and fruity funk... so good !

Hazy peach-colored body, thin off-white head, spotty lacing. Musty cherries and raspberries, light wood and bretty hay. Flavor shows a slightly sweeter profile. Medium to light bodied, mellow acidity, nice musty finish.

Strong smell of sour cherry. Pours light pink highly carbonated. Tastes like a sour wit with cherry kick on the finish.

Bottle at home, courtesy of Andre. Thanks man!! Pour is hazy orange with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Funk, basement, cat urine, woody, lemon peel, citrus, dust, and sour cherries in the aroma. Taste is sour cherries, light spice, lemon peel, citrus, funky, basement, nutmeg, dust, and green apples with a lightly sour finish. Light body with soft carbonation. Super funky and a true lambic. World-Class!

Served in an Allagash coolship tumbler. Nose is less cherry heavy than the Balaton. More funk and acidity. Funky earth in the background. Super dry.

Shared by Thorpe429 alongside several other Allagash sour/wild ales. Thank you very much, Mike!
The beer is light pink with a thin white head. The aroma offers sweet cherries with a touch of yeast and oak. The flavor is cherries, cherry pie, crust. A touch of lemon and vinegar in the finish. mild tartness and acidity in the finish. Subtle lactic presence. Fairly thin and light in body, with alcohol presence well disguised. A decent fruit sour ale, but again, not in the same echelon as the Belgian greats of this ilk.

Wedding Rate thanks to deyholla brought to me at my wedding table. Thanks, dude. I miss having you around these parts. Pours a darker ruby red copper hue, hazy at times, a nice frothy pink head sits atop, dies down to a loose ring. Some darkness in the middle. Aromas are rich cherry skins, sour and tart cherries, minerally and earthy elements as the skin and pits really take over. Firm oak, tannins, and funk bristle in. Lots of cherry. Initial is loaded with sour cherries, lots of cherry skin and tannins, earth and funk. Wet oak, lots of funk, almost a bit harsh at times, but sometimes that is something I enjoy. Sour, a touch of balsamic, red wine, as the sour tart cherries return. Skins and tannic element take a hold as we move into the middle and backend, firm funk, lively carbonation, and a slick sour lingering feel, dryness, and lingering funk hang on throughout. I wouldn’t call it all that complex, but it was tasty and assertive in my opinion.
