UPDATED: MAY 25, 2016 Bottle dated 25th Jan 2012. It pours hazy rose with a decent white head. The aroma is musty, funky, Bakewell tart, cherry pie, marzipan, almond, jam and sherbet. The taste is crisp, tart, fresh acidity, sour cherry, raspberry pip, Bakewell tart, lemon sherbet, touch of alcohol, rhubarb and marzipan with a dry, wood finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Well rounded and mellow. Tasty stuff.

37.5cl bottle at Nacht van de Grote Dorst 2016 in Itterbeek (22 IV 2016), shared with a friend. Pale light red and gloomy cherries geuze. A blunt sourness and funk features overwhelm the brett and wild lambic notes. Refreshing drink from Allagash Brewing Company.

375 ml bottle @ Nacht van de Grote Dorst 2016. Unclear, pale pink body with a moderate sized and fast disappearing off-white head. Quite light in aroma, funky, acidic, wood, sour cherry and lemon. Flavor is funky with Brett, barnyard, wood, lemon, sour cherry and a bit spicy. Relatively mild in flavor and I found the cherry flavor almost in the background compared with the typical Belgium Kriek that actually often can be too much. Normally I prefer my Kriek a bit matured to let the cherry flavor settle a bit, this one has still the young, tartness in combination with a bit more modest cherry flavor. A bit unusually but I like it. Fine balanced body and quite smooth in aftertaste.

Pale pinkish color with small head. Aroma is cherry yoghurt, wood. Taste is cherry, wood, has some Schaerbeekse feeling in there, cherry stone, but also a lot of yoghurt. High carbonation. Good.

Pinkish red color with light punk head. Aroma is balsamic, cherry skins, menthol cough drops, and vanilla. Taste is battery acid tart that is way too much. Salad dressing.

Pours a light pinkish color with similar colored head. Cherries on the nose, strong aroma of tart cherries, with a little funk mixed in; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with tart cherry and dry. I was pleasantly surprised how much the fruit comes through on this one.

Bottle, 2012 vintage. Pumpkin-orange and nearly opaque, with a head of white that fizzles away quickly. Funky nose -- lots of barnyard, a little white vinegar, tart cherries, some lavender. Flavor has an almost pit-like bitterness, along with a little almond and cinnamon. Cherries aren’t too pronounced, and the funk and sharp oak are well-blended. Creamy medium body, very mild CO2. Very tasty and complex stuff, though a little more bitter than I like.

Bottle shared by jackl. Thanks! Clear pink, medium sized frothy off-white head. Good retention. Aroma of dry tart cherries, raisin, citrus, pale malt, hay, mild vanilla and wood. The taste is hay, earth, strong tart cherries, oak, funk, lingering sour finish. Medium bodied, lingering tartness.
