Cloudy pinkish-red body, thin pinkish-white head, sparse lacing. Tart, semi-sweet, raspberry jam. Light acetic notes, some soft grains, and some must. Medium bodied, moderate to lively carbonation, assertive acidity, a tad raw overall.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
375mL bottle at tasting. Pretty pink beer color. I had no idea this had raspberries until looking at the ratings now. Generally, this beer was just too acetic, not nail polish but real sour and tart. Almost too drying, this was the first beer I sampled and after a sip I needed water. Its not overly acetic but definitely very sour and needs something else to balance the beer. But if its truly spontaneously fermented I am still impressed.

Thanks to Dice for sharing this at Bob’s. Pours Murky pink with no real head. Very tart. Raspberry, funky and tart. Puckeringly acetic. Nice tart drying sipper of a lambic-esque beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 375 ml bottle with a bottle date of 2012.
Aroma is fruity and acidic but more complex than a one dimensional jam bomb. Some citrus, cherry and tropical fruit. Light earthy herbal notes and hints of oak and leather.
Pours a pale red with some orange hues and a large, slightly pink head that recedes to a thin film that lingers. Light lacing and small legs.
Flavor has a light sweetness that quickly turns sour. Light fruit notes with some citrus and tropical fruit; not as fruity as I would expect. A bit harsh in the finish with too much oak tannins. Some earthy herbal notes.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Some astringency from the oak tannins and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, the aroma is superb and reminds me a bit of Rose de Gambrinus, more than any other American framboise. The flavor has too much oak and not enough fruit.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From notes. Tasted on 1/27/13 from a corked and caged 375mL bottle, big thanks to Curtis for sharing. Pours hazy ruby red with an average pink head that slowly recedes to average lace. The nose is awesome with tons of tart and sour raspberry and a good amount of earthy, funky yeast. The flavor is nicely sour, tons of tart raspberry, high acidity, some funk, and a good tannic structure. The body is medium with just under average carbonation and a long sour raspberry and complex funky finish.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Lukaduke, thanks! Pours a deep, rich orange with a small white ring around the edge. Smell is powerful raspberry and dirty mineral funk. Nicely complex. Taste is tart and dry with a long finish. A nice earthy funk holds things together and makes this especially interesting. Solid lacto punch. Raspberry showcased but the wonderful coolship qualities shine along in harmony. A nice special occasion beer, wish I had more!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
375ml bottle. A pour hovering somewhere between orange and red. White cap. Aroma of fresh raspberries, cut grass, black pepper. Raspberry comes through lusciously in the taste. Has a wonderful sourness but less oaky than some. This feels very close to the fruit lambics of Belgium; certainly more than their gueuze did to Belgian gueuzes.
