38cl, Vintage 2014, at 5.2%Vol, new exclusive American brew, with raspberries, thx alot to Secret Santa!, complex sour fruit brew, sour/fruity and slightly malty/woody, easy to drink, balanced, cloudy, nearly no head, good brew, yet very expensive!

Location: Sampled at Where the Wild Beers Are, 6/7/14

Aroma: The aroma is sour and fruity, cheesy and funky as well
Appearance: It pours a pinkish color with a soft head
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, sour fruit and plenty of funky flavors
Palate: The body is medium, it has average carbonation, and a mid-tart finish
Overall Impression: Another really nice one to try at Where the Wild Beers Are. Not too much written for the overall in my notes, so I’ll just leave it with that.

Sample@Quintessence 2014.

12oz Bottle. Thanks, Rob. Hay, almonds, freshly cut wood, and mashed berry aroma. Woah, this is intensely acidic. Brazen lactic acid brings some general fresh raspberry notes at about 50% of full intensity. Lemon juice, yogurt, oak, and ground leaves. The raspberry fruit notes give a hint of acetic, but I don’t think it’s really there. Snappy and really sharp. This seems incredibly young at this perspective. I think a more aged blend would have created a more graceful beverage. Bottle aging won’t work since the fruit will be eaten up by the time the beer softens and mingles.

Bottle at Grote Dorst. Vintage 2010. Clear red liquid with small light pink head. Aroma of red berries, funk, barnyard, earth, lemon and vinegar. Taste is dry and medium sweet with notes of funk, harsh malt and red berries. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Nice but not that elegant.

slight pink head that disappears quickly without lacing. pink colour. aroma is raspberry, sour, fresh. taste like aroma but with a pronounced citric sour finish. rather thin body and very carbonated. not well balanced, lacks complexity. expected much more from this, a gambrinus is way better, but perhaps that is not a fair comparisson? bottle @ cantillon quintenssence ’14
