2010 vintage. Sitting here looking at the numbers, and the more I try this beer the more it grows on me. This beer has flavour to burn, yet is contrasted by being very smooth and delicate on the palate. One of the finest beers that I have ever tried, and in stark contrast to the hop monsters that dominate my favourites.

From notes: 4/2011 bottling. Pours hazy golden amber, with a small, thin white head. Aroma is yeasty and sweet with mild woody and vanilla notes. Palate is very slightly thick with a pleasant depth and some astringency in the finish. Flavor is a touch sweet up front, quickly giving way to a woody note. Notes of bourbon and vanilla in the finish that become more pronounced as it warms.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 PotjeBier (425) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 17, 2012
(From notes). On tap @ Bojo’s Hollywood, end of 2009. Served a bit too cold. Golden color, slightly hazy. Nice, firm white head, retaining. Aroma: Medium sweet, some sour fruit/citrus, a bit sweet spices (wood notes came out more when the beer warmed up). Flavor is medium sweet, a bit spicy, hints of vanilla. Strong alcoholfeel, medium body. Wood notes really appear after swallowing. Geslaagd experiment.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jlruthven (325) - Milledgeville, Georgia, USA - JAN 15, 2012
Really excited to try this. Bottle, shared. Pours hazy, light orange-gold. Tight, vigorous white head. Nose is heavy with cloves, vanilla, earth, touch of bourbon. A bit heavier on the bourbon when it comes to taste, with more clove, vanilla, slight lemon. Effervescent mouthfeel, great, soft carbonation. Very nice. Unique.

750ml bottle thanks to my buddy Fowler. 2010 vintage.
Dull golden brew with a slight head. Aromas of grain, oak, and fruit - flavor is fruity with some vanilla and bourbon. Biscuit malt present as well.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Westmeister (464) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JAN 9, 2012
Sankey Cask @ The Porter. Pours a slightly hazy golden a good finger of white head. The nose offers some bourbon and oak with a sweet vanilla, spice and some banana. Taste is like vanilla cream and buorbon mixes. Not at all overpowering and the bourbon is very smooth. You also get some oak, a bit of clove/spice and caramel malts. Overall, I really enjoyed the fact the bourbon did not dominate the beer, but melded nicely with the rest of the flavors. Very good and interesting tripel.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Chuckaduck (266) - California, USA - JAN 8, 2012
Pours a light golden color with very thin white head. Aroma is bourbon, yeast, vanilla, alcohol. Flavor is clean and crisp with Belgian yeast and bourbon; the bourbon flavor adds a wonderful spicy and vanilla quality. Very glad that I finally got to try this.
