patrickfannon (273), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 29, 2009 Bottle. 25.4 oz. (2009) Pours hay colored, murky golden with a medium, pungent, white head. Incredibly unique aroma: strong vanilla, wheat, breadd, hops, and, oddly, warm butter. Medium body for such a high ABV, which it hides very well. Nice lacing throughout. Extremely long, crisp finish. Excellent tripel. watson1977 (250), , Pennsylvania, USA Oct 27, 2009 sample draft at Waywood Beverage!! pours an opaque honey color with a very thin white head...retention could be better. outstanding aroma of blood orange and herbs with a hint of vanilla slight breadiness. flavor has light vanilla and bourbon with some mildly spicy hops up front and the end is dominated by oak notes. mouthfeel is creamy at first but gets a bit watery in the finish. still has an oaky, dry lingering finish. very nice beer...i defintiely had seconds! Cloudy yellow pour with a small whitehead. Aroma is clove, coriander, orange. Flavor is white pepper, herbal, spicy yeast, citrus, slight bourbon. This beer was decently hot. travita (1861), Frisco, Texas, USA Oct 16, 2009 On tap at the Gingerman in Ft. Woth. Clear, look golden in color, nice lacing white colored head. The smell is very heavy wood, fruits, pepper, spices, bourbon, and alcohol. The taste is very heavy alcohol, wood, sweet, fruits. jeff789 (359), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 12, 2009 Very Woody, boozy, oaky, vanilla aroma with notes of coconut and fruits, not very yeasty... Flavor follows suit with the bourbon notes coming through... Surprisingly not overly full bodied, especially in the finish, very nice on the palate, very very very complex, a definite winner... Amazing beer... Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Oct 8, 2009 Clear orange pour. Little head. Smells of sweet fruit and light citrus. Slight bit of grape feeling after the aroma warms a bit. Tastes like a tripel with a bit of harsh taste. Feeling of burning on the way down. Sweet upfront that quickly turns to rough hell. Fratto (670), Arlington, Texas, USA Oct 7, 2009 On tap at the Gingerman Fort Worth. Light yellow pour. Aroma is spicy with lots of clove. Lots of alcohol in the taste. Banana and pepper too. Harsh spice aftertaste.
