Orange-golden color with a creamy white head. Aroma is full of whiskey and oak with some prominent vanilla notes and a touch of sugar. Charred oak flavors followed by hints of maple some peppercorn spice and a subtle hop presence. Warming alcohol is apparent in the finish.

Bottled March 2008. Hazy, orange-golden with a medium sized lasting head and nice frosty lacing. Light fruit aroma: apricot, apples, grapes and some vanilla. Flavor is peach, spicy vanilla, clove, wheat, and honey; all bittered by some peppery oak and a delicate whiskey finish. Soft, medium body is smooth and dry.

November 2007 bottle. Hazy golden amber color, nice thick and creamy head. Aroma of caramel, with some fruit and malt notes too. Lots of carbonation, somewhat crisp mouthfeel. Taste less complex than expected--perhaps needed more time to age? Flavor strongly caramel, also malt with mild spice and hints of citrus. Drinkable, but not one I’d go out of my way to try again.

RB#4800: 22 fl oz bottle, huge thanks to Storm for sharing this one. Pours hazy orange with a lacing white head. Mild spiced and woody aroma. Sweet caramel malt flavour with a mild yeasty note. Slight woody note and mild spiced flavour following. Ends with a light wooden and spiced finish. Nice and dry.

On tap At Lunar Brewing, Villa Park, Il.. Poured into the snifter, a hazy, gold/amber hue, with a bubbly, quickly diminishing, white head, and solid lacing. The aroma was light malt and fruit sweetness and attention getting alcohol. The flavor was the same notes, with the bourbon becoming more of a reality. Expected a little more balance, with the strong bourbon stealing the show. Appreciated this a little more the second time around.

Hazy gold with a quarter-inch white head. Yeasty, fruity nose. Flavor is rich and filled with sweet fruitiness, some woodsy notes, just a hint of bourbon. Fully carbonated mouthfeel and some great lacing. Great beer.

Bottel. Average creamy off-white head that mostly lasted. Spare display of lacework. Cloudy golden color. Aroma of bourbon, wood, vanilla, vinous, toasted malt, fruit, alcohol, raisins. Full bodied with an average carbonation and thick light alcoholic texture. Moderated to heavy sweet flavor with light bitterness. Bourbon warming alcoholic finish. 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 15

Hazy copper brew with a nice eggshell head and solid lacing. Nose is belgian yeast, spices, and oak. This beer takes on the characteristics of the wood more than others. Brews like GI BCS, Founders Kentucky Breakfast, and Top Sail Bourbon Barrel Imp. Porter all soak up the bourbon qualities. Vanilla sweetness with an alcohol burn. Not my favorite but I can appreciate this beer.
