Pleasant crisp yeasty buttery notes in the aroma. Hazy yellow color with a thin white head. Flavor is spicy Belgian yeast. Smooth.

Julio’s Belgian Beer Festival. Sample. Sweet, strong and citrusy. A good tripel though too strong for my tastes both in alcohol flavor and effect.

On tap at flying saucer. Pours a cloudy orange golden with a medium frothty white head. The aroma is citrus and yeast. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet sugary yeast taste with a nice dry finish. A good tripel from allagash.

February 2007 22 oz corked bomber bottle. Pours cloudy peach-orange with a fizzy white head that dissipates to thin splotch. Tangy citrus and tart pear aroma with good banana notes as it warms as well as some woody, vanilla notes from the barrel aging. Tart and sour with prominent alcohol notes balanced somewhat by softer bourbon notes on the finish. Medium bodied, highly carbonated - very prickly. Not bad, but I find that the belgian tartness conflicts with the bourbon a bit.

(750ml bottle thanks to ballewblake, bottled June 08) Pours a dark yellow with good head and coats the glass nicely. Nose is oak, sour cherry, alcohol. Taste is oaky, slight bourbon on the finish, nice carbonation, and well balanced hops. Spicy/biscuit yeast profile and loving how it finishes. The regular tripel from these guys is better in my opinion though.

Bottle pours semi-cloudy amber color with white head. Aroma is yeast, butter, vanilla, and alcohol. Has a buttery, creamy mouthfeel. Flavaor is yeast, butter, alcohol, some vanilla, and finishes semi-dry. This is a good beer. Just not great due to the diacetyl. Bottled March 2009.

Notes from Seattle International Beer Festival. Smells like bananas. Tastes like bananas. Unfortunately I drink enough Belgians to know be much more specific than that. Tastes yeasty, but thankfully no metal. Poured cloudy orange.

Picked up this rather expensive brew from Greens on Ponce De Leon. 25.4 oz. bottle. Haze brown/yellow/orange color. Nice fluffy head that sticks around; damn good looking tripel if you ask me. Fruity/sweet aroma. Not extremely pungent. I am gonna let this warm up a wee bit...Fruit and yeast become more and more noticeable as the beer warms up. Not so much on the wood I must . Slight banana aroma as well. Man that wood flavor is immediately noticeable. Very nice subtle wood at first then some yeast/banana/fruit flavor. As the beer warms the wood is still very slight in terms of aroma, but aroma is still nice overall. This beer is awesome. Really love the wood mixed with the fruit. Very smooth. Just an amazing tripel if you ask me. One of my favorites, if not my favorite. I believe this is due to the wood aging. Nice ABV too!
