Color is a cloudy golden orange. Decent light fluffy head of fine bubbles. Good carbonation. Thick sticky lacing. Fruity aroma with some fruit (peaches?), butterscotch and a light bourbon aroma. Nice. Flavor is light and fruity with a big alcohol kick. Quite hot. Little more butterscotch and bourbon. Nice alcohol warming. Very easy drinkng which can be very dangerous for this brew. Finish is clean and short-lived besides the alcohol. A good brew.

just tried this as the Nappi Distributors Beer Trade Show. on tap, poured by Rob Tod himself. cloudy copper brown color. aroma is powerfull. vanilla, oak, caramel and some other earthy, woodsy type aromas. taste is verry unique. vinilla, caramel , citrus, briwn sugar, toffee, and alcohol is definatly present, but only adds to the experiance. like sipping a fine burbon wiskey. soooo goood.

Bottled 2/05. Decided to enjoy after a horrific week at work (program launch). Jen and I took it to the club. Pours hazy orange with a medium white head. Lightly sweet aroma with citrus, Belgian candy, and light yeast hints. The flavor is Belgian candy sugar, maple syrup, nutty hints (like walnuts), and you do get a bourbon hint but the predominant flavor is straight alcohol in this respect. Light yeast, citrus and other fruit (orange & banana with lemon rind) and finally a light spiciness. Creamy smooth body. Very enjoyable. I think this is one of my favorite Allagash brews to date.

Bottle vintage 2004 9.5% sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours hazy orange\gold with a white head. Aroma of spices, yeast, citrus, fruit, and wood. Flavor is sweet, citrusy, the oak is very present, spicey, and smooth.

750ml. bottle. Hazy golden/orange color with a small off white head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, wood, sweet malt and raisins. Sweet, malty flavor with notes of bourbon, vanilla, dried fruits and a warming alcoholic finish. Not a fan of bourbon, but this is a very well made beer.

From a 750ml. caged cork brown bottle with pouring instructions on the lower right side of the front label and bottling date, December ’04, cases bottled, 340 and 11% ABV info in the center of front label. Made a good appearance, poured a cloudy golden hued orange with a foamy white head that settled into a fizzy, bubbly lacing, good carbonation. Had a tropical fruity and woody nose with whiffs of sweet spicy alcohol. A crisp, smooth medium bodied mouth feel, above average drinkability. Sweet tropical sour fruity with a bourbon woody character, delightfully light in it’s bourbon barrel flavor, a mild spicy hop bitterness, a subtle alcoholic warmth in the palate and a dry, sharp tropical fruity finish. This is, in my opinion, a great Tripel from Allagash, tasty and biting, a complete pleasure to drink.

No head. Body is light cloudy yellow, glowing. Aroma is honey, vinous tones, some floral hops make it very nice. Taste is alcohol, lemon, bitter and grassy hops. More vinous flavors. Clean finish with subtle hints of bourbon. I was impressed.
