September 2004, 9.5% alcohol. Golden, with a frothy, rocky head that dissipates rather quickly. Aged in my china hutch/beer cellar for the last year- typical triple aromas, I don’t detect the strong oak and bourbon notes that others have, they are there, but not out there. I didn’t taste it when it was bottled, but this is a nice, balanced triple with well integrated flavors and a smooth, rich finish. This is a fine ale- and highly recomended.

Bottle to tulip Consummation: Oak, muted bourbon, hint of sour, caramel, malts, yeast...so smooth Adjunct: Aroma of bourbon, wood, carrot, apple cider, light sweet yeast; as I said before, so smooth, silky, and a bit boozy, but not what would be expected for this ABV; clear, but not crystal, light amber with a frothy white head that falls pretty quickly to a thin white ring, with active effervescence

Great stuff. Light golden opaque, 2 finger head. Lively carbonation. Barrrels are not strong in the aroma but add a nice complexity to an already great flavor. As far as tripels go, I would put the base beer up against any of them. This version ups the ante for me.

Pours a hazy amber from a bottle with a pillowy white head. Aroma of green apple and vanilla. Flavor adds a surprising coconut note into the mix. A heavy-hitter with some alcohol burn, but mostly this is a creamy beer with a big mouthfeel. Good beer.

Sample at Bob’s Bar during the "Mike Langley GTFO of Columbus Bottle Share" on 08/29/2016. The beer pours a clear pale golden color with a medium white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, bourbon and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of bourbon, oaky vanilla, fruity yeast and malt. The finish is mildly boozy with a bourbon and yeast aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

On tap at Chickies and Pete’s on Packer Ave. this one is all Belgian followed by all bourbon, so much so I couldn’t get past the bourbon, but I’m not down on an 11% beer and I did drink 5 of them, so hope that helps you.

Bottled February 2016. The vanilla, banana, coconut and clove aromas are consistent from pour to swallow and the 11% alcohol is warming and well hidden; kudos. A bit sweet but it finishes abruptly and cleanly. True to the style there is a bubbly light mouthfeel however there is slightly soapy texture (if you were a kid back in the day and you said something you weren’t supposed to, you know what I mean). Excellent but a bit expensive. Next time I think I will pair it with food.

8 oz draft. Slightly hazy orange color with a very small bubbly white head. Aromas of funk, spice, yeast, a hint of alcohol, various fruits. Banana and apricot, spices, peppery, a bit of bourbon on the finish. Medium body, effervescent and slick mouthfeel.
