Pours clear amber from a 750 cc bottle. Aroma is coriander, vanilla, and sweet malt. The flavour delivers what the nose promises with mild hops and subtle sour notes. Well balanced. Wow I love the bourbon barrel infusion!

Bottle shared at RBESG ’14 Grand Tasting, Moncada Brewery, 09/08/14 acquired from Binny’s South Loop Chicago. Hazed golden orange with a moderate off white covering. Nose is citric peel, spice, vanilla pod, straw, earthy tones, light yeast esters. Taste comprises mellow fruits, Belgian yeast esters, banana, clove, custard. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok Belgo affair.

Benzai (8103) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - AUG 17, 2014
Bottle shared at RBESG 2014 Grand Tasting. Hazy pale yellow color, average sized off-white head. Smell and taste sweetness, some alcohol, slightly hops, some bourbon for sure, slightly vanilla. Interesting, but to me it once more proves barrel aging doesn’t really work with tripels.

Taster at the source, pours copper with a scant white head. Aroma is bourbon and vanilla. Nice. Flavor is biscuit, bourbon, vanilla. Slightly floral. Really good.

Very smooth somewhat sweet mouth feel followed by a small amount of alcohol heat from the bourbon aging. A very nice beer.

Scopey (6659) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 11, 2014
Bottle thanks to Colin at RBESG 2014 Grand Tasting. It pours hazy gold with a small white head. The nose is big wood, earth, funk, vanilla, coconut, spice, dust basement, dust, cobwebs and must. The taste is sweet, toasted grain, big raw booze, must, stone fruits, dull sweetness, wood, vanilla, leather and varnish with a hot finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Damn this shit is hot. Too hot.

Bottle drank during RBESG; cloudy amber pour with a frothy white head, aroma has light bourbon along with some rip fruit, taste has sweet caramel, spice, bourbon is not overpowering, a hint of wood.

Brilliant beer. Flavorful, aromatic, wonderful finish. And strong to boot. Don’t pass on the opportunity to sample this gem of a brew.

Drought. Cloudy yellow with creamy light beige head, slight citrus aroma, low carbonation, spicy taste (cinnamon?), very subtle bourbon at the background, medium finish. An exquisite taste!
