Cloudy yellowish color. Smell is very taty. Great pleasant smell. Taste is amazing! Lots of flavor. Like a party in my mouth...a party of flavor! For an 11 percent beer its very smooth and doesn’t have that big of an alcohol bite.

07 Vintage, pours cloudy amber gold, nice puffy head that wains after a short while. Wonderful complex flavor, bourbon is faint, not overpowering at all, with some oak/vanilla in there too.. Yeasty, slightly sweet, rich, nice long finish. Alcohol well hidden, but I felt it right off. Wonderful smell, mild oak and bourbon with some bakery shop aromas. Wonderful balance, I really like this one.

Rate #280. 750 ml bottle. Bottled: April 2010, 690 cases. Poured an almost opaque faded gold/straw with a very firm off-white head. Fair amount of sediment in my glass. Aroma: sour-ish fruits, bourbon saturated wood, maybe vanilla, Belgian yeast, hops. Taste: Sour fruits, lemon zest, funk/barnyard, strong bourbon saturated wood, maybe vanilla, understated hop profile. Medium but full body, loaded with flavors and very balanced. Overall: unique is an understatement... this is a Bourbon Barrel Aged Triple, and it does have that, but it also had this Saison edge to it. Very complex. I really enjoyed this but I bet 2 or 3 years sitting in a cool cellar would make this even better.

drank at mondial 2011 in mtl. pours golden blond with a decent off-white head, little retention, strong lacing. aroma is cherries, bretts, yeasty, oaky, fruity and malted sweetness. also, bourbon in taste, bubblegum, alcohol, tons of malts. light to medium hopping - grassy and somewhat citrusy. very belgium bubbly, full bodied.

Belgian Trippel style. This is probably the most complex beer I have ever tasted. Caramels, vanilla, tobacco, crazy fruity undertones that I can’t even identify... and then the finish leaves a nice aged Bourbon taste in your mouth. This stuff is rather strong too, so it has a nice warming effect. One of my all time favorites.

On tap and in bottle. Takes belgian tripel style to the next level. In addition to the excellent taste of a tripel, the barrel-aging process is apparent with strong undertones of wood, smoke, and bourbon. A bit on the dry side, and the high alcohol is apparent in a satisfying way. A prime example of why Allagash is such an amazing brewery because on top of doing amazing recreations of classic belgian styles, they add experimental methods like this to add flavors never experienced before, that always result in an amazing beer.

the initial taste is very similar to bourbon. it finishes great though, w/out the burning sensation of a whiskey.

Very Woody, boozy, oaky, vanilla aroma with notes of coconut and fruits, not very yeasty... Flavor follows suit with the bourbon notes coming through... Surprisingly not overly full bodied, especially in the finish, very nice on the palate, very very very complex, a definite winner... Amazing beer...
