b33r (332), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Jul 21, 2007 Bright cloudy orange in color with nice head. Aroma and flavor were rich of malt and spicy sweetness, and the bourbon was definitely noticeable. It was pretty powerful and the alcohol was slightly evident.
DKTN (103), Mc Donald, Tennessee, USA Sep 2, 2008 Pours hazy straw with a sustained white head. Vanilla, charred wood, alcohol aroma and flavor. A bourbon/whiskey burn in the after taste. Warming and good. ucusty (1062), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 26, 2008 Hazy gold pour, very bright. White head and spotty lace. WHisky aroma. Sticky palate. Big oak, bourbon, and leather. Very sweet but the bourbon seems to balance that out DuffMan (1939), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Aug 24, 2008 Pours a hazy golden yellow with a towering white head. Oaky, whiskey aroma, but soft with a sweetness suggesting honey. Sweet malty palate with dominant vanilla oaky tones, honey, spices, and a leathery woodiness in the finish. Absolutely delicious! enginaaron (65), San Diego, California, USA Aug 23, 2008 On tap at Churchill’s Pub in San Marcos, CA. Thick golden with large white head. Aroma full of esters and alcohol. Taste with too hot, Sort of sticky on the tongue. But had a good malty sweetness with vanilla and a very, very slight bourbon aged flavor. I thought the age was done very well, very subtly. Overall, too hot made it not as enjoyable as I would’ve wished. Bhops (200), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 21, 2008 Golden body with minimal head, aroma of chardonnay and grapes with funky earth/wood hints. Didn’t catch any bourbon in the nose, but the oaks is definitely there. Flavor is all oak, honey and maltiness. Pretty smooth but still looking for the bourbon. This beer tasted a bit young, a little age would do it well.
