Pours a hazy golden orange with a fizzy head that quickly dissipates. The aroma is a delicious candied and dried fruit with subtle hints of vanilla and bourbon. The taste and mouthfeel starts with a light fruity bitterness "pop" on the back of your tongue from the carbonation with a sweet bready malt base. Hints of citrus and apple with mild oak, vanilla, and bourbon on the finish. The presence of alcohol is noticeable with each sip. Overall a very good beer but i was expecting something a bit heavier with more smokey characteristics. Very drinkable for the high ABV.

Love how the barrel contributes so much to this Belgian triple. It’s devine, in every sense of the meaning.

Draft at Kennedy’s SF. Hazy deep yellow with moderate fine foam and crazy lacing. Sweet maple and amaretto nearly eclipses sharper citrus and green herb. Flavors tend more yeast-driven than the barrel-derived aromas, with esters plumbing the banana, tropical, and bubble gum depths. Sweet but thin, and profoundly intoxicating.

[5653-20130816] Bottle. Mild wood barrel notes in the aroma. Slightly hazy, pale orange body with a quick foamy white head. Mild bourbon-soaked wood flavour. Full body. Good, mild. (7/3/8/3/15) 3.6

March 2014 bottling. Pours a hazy yellow with a medium sized white sudsy head. Aroma of sweet malts, wood, bourbon, sugar, caramel. Taste follows the nose with some vanilla in it. Medium body, solid carb, and decent bitterness mixed with the sweetness. Overall decent brew.

Beer Bloggers Conference - San Diego - Big yeast aroma and flavor. Nice tripel flavors. I was impressed with the barrel aging.

On tap at Burial Brewing in Asheville, this pours a hazy golden into the glass, with a wispy head that leaves light soap lacing. The nose has esters and melon. Flavors of yeasty esters, melon, honey, light alcohol and Candi sugars, finishing with a curt touch of whiskey bite. The body is full and feels substantial in the mouth. An interesting take on the tripel, indeed, but it works. Big brew here.

Bottled. Pale golden color. White head, noticeable lacing. Aroma is surprisingly sour with an oaky character. Flavor is banana, clove, vanilla oaky quality really shines through. Awesome beer.

Draft. Hazy yellow. Big vanilla notes and bourbon with spice and oak. Rich alcohol on the finish. A very complex tripel with a lot of barrel character. First time I've had this on tap. Wow! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
