Pours a hazy golden orange with a fizzy head that quickly dissipates. The aroma is a delicious candied and dried fruit with subtle hints of vanilla and bourbon. The taste and mouthfeel starts with a light fruity bitterness "pop" on the back of your tongue from the carbonation with a sweet bready malt base. Hints of citrus and apple with mild oak, vanilla, and bourbon on the finish. The presence of alcohol is noticeable with each sip. Overall a very good beer but i was expecting something a bit heavier with more smokey characteristics. Very drinkable for the high ABV.

I like how this beer is 11% but drinks like a smaller beer. Also it's subtle. The barrel flavor comes off in the taste but not enough to overshadow the Belgian notes. This is an inviting barrel aged beer. Solid... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy honey golden with a finger o head. Nose is oak, barrel, fruit ester hiding in there, apple ester, Belgian yeast. Taste follows nose, lots of barrel, Belgian yeasty, touch of fruit, a touch of vanilla from the oak, efervescent, a good amount of alcohol burn, bourbon on the finish, hot with booze. It's an ok ba tripel, but not overly impressed. Too hot, too much barrel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had this on my wish list for a while and finally tried it. Gotta admit, I was a bit let down. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, just not out of this world great. I get vanilla and oak with the typical trippel sweetness. The bourbon is subdued, basically just shows up in the alcohol warmth. I wanted more carbonation, think that would have added a lot to it.

Aroma - a definite presence of Brettanomyces yeast, champagne like alcohol, and some barnyard like aroma Appearance - golden body; hazy; 2" white head that takes some time to fade Taste - champagne, Brettanomyces yeast like quality; some coriander and other spices Palate - body is medium to light; texture has a champagne like effervescence and property; carbonation is lively; finish has a boozy, dry finish

I love bourbon, I love beer. Perfect synergistic delight awaits in this bottle. Shared with The Girl today - both loved it. This ménage a trois will be repeated... ---Cheers, Si

Poured from a bomber into a snifter cloudy golden with a thin head. Aroma reminds me of a chardonnay woodsy oaky. Flavor is slightly funky Belgium. Sweetness here nice fruit. Bready but not too much. Balance here. Well done. Definitely an above average abbey tripel.

On tap at Ridgewood (Raleigh) Pours a murky amber. Sweet fruity aroma and taste. Tripels are not my favorite, but this is pretty good for a tripel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a nice hazy yellow. Aroma is much like the Allagash Triple Reserve. Basically the same flavor profile but add in some nice vanilla and woody oak undertones. Nice bourbon sweetness added to this as well. Very good beer. Very, very smooth...

Bottled 9-6-13. Very faint smell with hints of bourbon and oak. Taste is a standard malty tripel up front with a nice bourbon finish. Overall very pleasant and enjoyable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
