Wonderful aroma especially as it warms consisting of raisins, plums, brown sugar, and some nuttiness. Flavor to match the aroma with the addition of some alcohol notes with a sweet and sticky body. Was certainly a hit with all of the non-beer drinkers I was with...well done. jujubeast6000 (777), Houston, Texas, USA

pours a clear, dark brown. It’s a flavorful dubbel, but not as complex as many. Tasty. If you’re trying to introduce someone to belgian dubbels, this is a good candidate xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2006 New Years Eve beer, batch number 38 and one hell of a cork to get out....what did they super glue it? Aged approximately 13 months. This beer pours a brownish copper color with a thick viscous tanned head and a moderate bit of lacing. Aroma is banana, wood, yeast and spice with hints of orange peel and did I mention banana? The yeasts were strong in the beginning but generally died out pretty quickly. Malty with banana and orange peel. Hints of caramel, dry and flaky mouthfeel. A tad coardboardy toward the bottom with a few floaties in the final sips. Standard characteristics I’d come to expect from an abbey dubbel, but at least Allagash’s product is quality! TomDecapolis (3157), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
