| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 4, 2002 Updated: Jul 10, 2007Aged one year: Aroma is very clean and fresh with green apples, ginger?, butterscotch and toasted malts. Bead is very creamy, off-tan with nice retention and stick power. Slightly nutty. A little light for a dubbel yet the extremely creamy and moderately dry palate compensate quite nicely. Very different from its 12 oz. counterpart. I had this a few hours after dinner and it was surprisingly appetizing. This is the finest dubbel you are going to find outside of Belgian. radiomgb (2076), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/new-york target=blank>Premier Gourmet in Buffalo, New York. Orange-brown in colour, very thin beige coloured head, small lacing. The aroma is yeasty, lemon citrus, orange peels, light chocolate. The flavour is yeasty, lemon and orange citrus, chocolate, rye bread. Creamy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long and creamy, yeasty, lightly bitter with just a hint of alcohol. This gets much better as it warms as more of the dark fruits are noticable.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 13, 2007 Pours crimson / mahogany with a dense tan head with amazing retention. The aroma has rich caramel, Belgium earthiness, brown sugar and cream - rich and wonderful. Medium / thick body with fairly sharp carbonation, but unobtrusive. The flavor starts with caramel, dark fruits, spicy traits, creamy Belgium earthiness, figs, dates and raisins. the finish has more spice and a sharpness. A fine example of a Dubbel. patrick767 (2058), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 21, 2008 bottle - Pours dark brown with a big, fluffy head. The aroma is of malt and yeast. The flavor is quite similar with the sweet malt accented just a little by fruit esters. It’s medium bodied and kind of bubbly. There needs to be some more flavor and complexity there though. Average, which makes it below average for a Belgian style. SHIG (2051), Aviano, Italy
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 18, 2009 Bottle: Poured a orange hazy brown with white head. Aroma is fruit with sweet malts. Taste is sweet fruit with a slight booze finish. Not an overwhelming dubbel in my book.
