Simply beautiful. Nose iof fruit, chocolate, nuts, and caramel malts. Rich and smooth mouthfeel. Robust flavors with a long dry finish. Wonder if aging would have helped this, but this is the only bottle I had. sloth (1691), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 3, 2007 "Just" another really nice beer from Allagash. I’ve come to think very highly of these guys and so far none of their beers dissapoint. The beer pours out a deep brown, slight reddish color with a medium off-white head. First aroma hits you is the malty sweetness. Under that is a fruity/berry aroma with cloves and a bit of spice. Mouthfeel is a little thin for a dubbel, but still it’s very nice. Flavors of the beer were a little "light", meaning they were quite as strong as I like, but they were still nice. Notes of raisins, dark table grapes, figs, and spices. Finishes smooth. A complex malty taste with a variety of flavors and smooth finish make this one a nice Dubbel to sip on just about any occasion. NachlamSie (1659), Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 15, 2007 Bottle, batch # 62 split with Tronraner. Pours a dark red-brown with a tall head. The nose has some satisfying Belgian scents with suggestions of cloves, ripened fruits, and some floral tones. The flavor has a delightful hint at chocolate with delicate fruitiness and mild spices. This is a very drinkable beer with respectable nuances, but a little thinner and tamer than I’d really like a Belgian style to be. I still enjoy their Triple the most. kiefdog (1655), Tampa, Florida, USA

Fruity yeasty aroma, with some sweetness that reminds me of a doppel. Flavor has a strange funk to it. Sort of acedic and sour, huge turn off. jason (1627), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
