Toffee brown, light beige onctuous head. Apple peel, alcohol and spicy caramel aroma. Strong caramel flavor at first and then earthy tones and alcohol come out. Good but not great.

Ester reminding me of wheat beer, but much more malty and sweet. Bit of fruity hops. Small, off-white head atop cloudy, medium brown beer. Soft carb, med-heavy body. Silky. Sweet and malty, bit of molasses. Nutty sweet finish and after. Tinge of sour/bitter. Yeasty. Pretty good, with complex profile like a dark wheat/bock mix. Still has some rough edges to work out.

Pours a dark mahogany brown. Hazy with some floaties and a smaller lacing head. Aroma of sweet matls, dark fruits, caramel and wood. Flavor of sweet and roasty matls, caramel, dark fruits. Flavor was a little less sweet than the aroma, even slightly dry.

Bottled (12 oz). Mahogony pour, tan bubbly head. Lacy. Fruity nose--cherry, alomnd, yeast. Flavor is malt, cherry, cinnamon, yeast, spice. Dry finish. Medium, soft mouthfeel.

Dark amber color. Cloudy. Tastes of malts with slight undertones of chocolate and nuts. Not off the charts spectacular, but a fine beer nonetheless.

Bomber. Rich auburn, big soapy head that disappears pretty quickly. Smells of rich, toasty malts, plums, and caramel. Really appealing nose. The taste wasn’t what I was hoping for after the start, though. Comes on with a nice thick plum/raisin taste up front but doesn’t hold the complexity for long. Finishes sharply, but not overly strongly or really that great. Good, drinkable, but not outstanding.

12 oz. bottle that doesn’t use the word "reserve," but I think it’s identical. Cloudy dark brown-orange with white head. Looks a bit like a Nitro can head with its small bubbles. Mouthfeel is the same way, with prominent but soft carbonation against a medium body. This is a pretty dry dubbel, some dark fruits, some anise. Yeasty too. Very drinkable, but I like Ommegang’s better.

Ruddy brown pour with very thin tan head. Nose is dried dark fruits, caramel and some yeast influence. Flavor is quite the same but less full. Slight spice finish.
